On April 19, the 15th meeting of the Sub-Committee on Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation of the China-Kazakhstan Cooperation Council was held by video link. Wang Xudong, member of the party group of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism and president of the Palace Museum, co-chaired the meeting with Yerkinbayev, deputy minister of culture and sports of Kazakhstan.

Wang Xudong said that over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kazakhstan, bilateral relations have realized leapfrog development and reached a high level of permanent comprehensive strategic partnership. In September 2022, President Xi Jinping visited Kazakhstan, and the heads of state of the two countries agreed to promote the construction of a China-Kazakhstan community of destiny that is characterized by intergenerational friendship, a high degree of mutual trust, and solidarity, which has set the direction of the development of the China-Kazakhstan relations in the new situation. Humanities exchanges and cooperation have always been an important part of China-Kazakhstan relations. With the gradual stabilization of the epidemic situation, humanities exchanges and cooperation between the two sides will surely accelerate the pace of recovery and usher in broader prospects for development. China is willing to work with Kazakhstan to further implement the consensus of the two heads of state and join hands to promote stable and far-reaching relations between the two countries, taking the first summit of the "China-Central Asia Five Countries" mechanism in 2023 and the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road" initiative as an opportunity. Together, we will further implement the consensus of the two heads of state and work together to promote stable and far-reaching relations between the two countries.

Yerkinbayev said that in recent years the two sides have made fruitful achievements in humanities exchanges and cooperation, which have strongly enhanced the traditional friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples. Kazakhstan is willing to further strengthen cooperation with China and promote humanistic exchanges between the two countries to a new level.

The two sides briefed each other on the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the fields of culture, tourism, education, radio and television, film, cultural heritage preservation, publishing, archives, youth policy and other areas since the 14th meeting of the China-Kazakhstan Sub-Commission on Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation, and exchanged in-depth views on the next step of the work of the Sub-Commission.

After the meeting, Wang Xudong and Yerginbayev jointly signed the minutes online.
