Du Jiang, member of the party group and vice minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, met with Pang Yiu-kai, chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and his delegation on April 11 in Beijing.
Du Jiang welcomed Chairman Peng Yaojia and his delegation. He expressed the central government's support for the prosperous development of Hong Kong's tourism industry and the strengthening of cooperation between the Mainland and Hong Kong's tourism industries in terms of passenger source transportation, promotion and marketing. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is committed to promoting in-depth exchanges and close contacts between the two sides and supporting Hong Kong's participation in national-level cultural and tourism activities. He hoped that the Mainland and Hong Kong would further enhance communication, strengthen policy coordination and regularize the level of communication; continue to enhance exchanges and encourage mutual visits between groups from the Mainland and Hong Kong; and deepen cooperation by jointly developing "multi-destination" products and participating in international cultural and tourism exchange activities.
Mr. Pang Yiu-kai thanked the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) for its attention and support to Hong Kong's tourism development. He said that the Hong Kong Tourism Board will closely liaise with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, promote the linkage and collaboration between the two sides, deeply participate in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and do a good job in the "Hello! Hong Kong" promotion project, assist the SAR Government to play the role of Hong Kong as a center for cultural and artistic exchanges between China and other countries, and tell the story of China and Hong Kong well.
