On April 10, Hu Heping, Minister of Culture and Tourism, met with Teo Keng Hsin, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, and exchanged views on the deepening of China-Malaysia cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation.
Hu Heping welcomed Zhang Qingshen's visit to China, spoke highly of China-Malaysia cultural and tourism relations, and fully affirmed the important role that Malaysia's Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has long played in deepening cultural and tourism cooperation between the two countries. He said that this year is the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China-Malaysia comprehensive strategic partnership, and next year is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. During this visit of Prime Minister Anwar to China, China and Malaysia reached a consensus on building a China-Malaysia community of destiny, which will surely open a new chapter in the history of relations between the two countries. China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism is willing to work with Malaysia's Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to strengthen cooperation between the two countries' governments and cultural and tourism organizations, cultivate the brand names of cultural and tourism activities of the two countries, and strengthen cooperation under multilateral frameworks, so as to inject more confidence into the recovery of the Chinese-Malaysian economy, and add more strength to the construction of the China-Malaysian community of destiny.
Mr. Zhang thanked China for including Malaysia in the list of the first batch of countries to resume outbound group tours for Chinese citizens on a pilot basis. He said the Malaysian side is willing to work with the Chinese side to promote the negotiation and signing of the memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation and the implementation plan for cultural exchanges, share successful experiences in the field of culture and tourism, deepen cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, and make greater contributions to the promotion of the Malaysia-China comprehensive strategic partnership.
