On July 27, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism held an achievement exchange conference on the study and implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, to deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse and the spirit of his instructions on Party education and investigation and research, take stock of the previous investigation and research, exchange achievements in the current stage, and promote the next stage of work in a deeper and more practical direction. Mr. Hu Heping, Secretary General of the Leading Party Members' Group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Minister of Culture and Tourism, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Mr. Bayanqolu, Leader of No. 19 Central Leading Group, attended and led the meeting. Mr. Li Qun, Mr. Wang Xudong, Mr. Lu Yingchuan and Mr. Rao Quan, members of the Leading Party Members’ Group of the Ministry of Culture, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

Since the beginning of the Party education campaign, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has conscientiously implemented the deployment and requirements of the CPC Central Committee, practiced the requirements of "deep, practical, detailed, accurate and effective", strengthened organizational leadership and coordination, improved regulations and organizational mechanism, grasped the implementation of the campaign, conducted in-edepth work at the grassroots and front line, conducted sound research, adhered to the problem-oriented mentality and strived to achieve results, promoted positive progress in its investigation and research.

At the meeting, Mr. Hu Heping and other members of the Leading Party Members’ Group of the Ministry presented their achievements in investigation and research at the current stage, covering topics such as studying and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, promoting the high-quality development of culture and tourism, social input to policy research on the protection and use of cultural relics, the system and mechanisms of the protection and management of world cultural heritage, the role of grassroots culture and art groups in building cultural grounds in the context of common prosperity, and strengthening the positive role of social organizations, the system and mechanism of protection and management of world cultural heritage, the role of grassroots cultural and artistic groups in building cultural foundations in the context of common prosperity, and enhancing the positive role of social organizations in the high-quality development of culture and tourism, and proposing measures to meet challenges and promote development. Comrades in charge from the Department of Public Services, the Department of Industrial Development, the Central Cadre College of Culture and Tourism Management and the China Tourism Research Institute exchanged views on the investigation and research.

The participants of the conference agreed that through solid investigation and research, they have further deepened their understanding of General Secretary Xi Jinping's thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era and the decisive significance of the "Two Establishes", as well as the recognition of the law of high-quality development of culture and tourism and the direction of future work. The Ministry will take the Party education campaign as an opportunity to continuously improve its investigation and research ability, and make sure to maintain contact with the people during the investigation and research process, take the investigation and research as a process to strengthen responsibility, respond to risks and challenges, and promote the development of culture and tourism, and ensure the detailed implementation of the requirements of "study ideas, strengthen party nature, emphasize practice, and build new achievements" in the field of culture and tourism.

Mr. Hu Heping stressed that General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to investigation and research and has published important discourses on many occasions, explaining in depth what investigation and research is and how to conduct good investigation and research from the aspects of ideology, historical inheritance, practical methodology, capacity building and institutional requirements. Since the launch of the Party education campaign, General Secretary Xi Jinping has put forward clear requirements for conducting good investigation and research on many occasions. The Ministry must thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse and the spirit of his instructions; fully recognize the importance of investigation and research; grasp, master and apply its inherent worldview and methodology; work on deep learning, internalization and transformation; and effectively achieve the seamless application of ideology and the unity of thought and action. It must also promote the movement of investigation and research in a deeper and more practical direction, continue to review the topics of investigation and research and strengthen work regulation, comprehensively and accurately control the situation, and focus on the transformation and application of the results.

Mr. Hu Heping demanded that the Ministry combine research with theoretical study, take the important discourse of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the spirit of his instructions on the work of culture and tourism as a reference, and define the direction of investigation and research as well as its topics and methodologies. The Ministry must combine investigation and research with rectification and correction, find solutions, improve work measures and promote the implementation of rectification. The Ministry must combine investigation and research with the promotion of development, organize in-depth strategic investigation and research on the overall situation, counteractive investigation and research that crack complex problems, forward-looking investigation and research on the new situations in the New Era, follow-up investigation and research on major work projects, anatomical investigation and research on typical cases, and supervisory investigation and research that promote implementation. The Ministry must maintain good conduct in its investigation and research, make more efforts to fight formalism and bureaucracy, commit to the practice of walking with the masses, construct new normalities, and promote the further deepening of Party education investigation and research and achieve greater results.

Mr. Bayanqolu affirmed the work of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Party education investigation and research. He pointed out that the investigation and research of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is research-oriented, targeted, with practical measures and high quality. Instead of conducting investigation and research for the sake of investigation and research, the Ministry consistently adheres to the problem-oriented, goal-oriented and effect-oriented mentality, commits to the principle of investigation and research in relevant fields, conducts relatively thorough investigation and research; the Ministry also adheres to the principle of proposing practical measures, promoting satisfactory solutions to problems; the Ministry consistently improves its position, promotes the high-quality development of culture and tourism closely surrounding its main tasks and work. Investigation and research is an important part and unique feature of this Party education campaign; the Ministry must thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, achieve new heights, good conduct and new achievements, promote the solution of problems, evaluate the effectiveness of Party education, and promote the prosperity and development of cultural enterprises, the cultural industry and the tourism industry through investigation and research.
