Hu Heping, Minister of Culture and Tourism met with He Chaoqiong, Vice President and Srecretary General of the Global Tourism Economy Forum in Beijing, having in-depth conversations on upgrading the Global Tourism Economy Forum and building Macao into the world center of tourism and leisure.
Hu Heping valued the role Global Tourism Economy Forum has been playing in developing Macao into the world center of tourism and leisure and promoting exchanges and cooperation among China and the rest of the world in various fields like tourism, culture, economy, trade and etc. He pointed out that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism would continue to give full support to Macao as usual to hold the Global Tourism Economy Forum and to deepen the forum’s cooperation with UN World Tourism Organization. Thus, a new model where conferences will be held by Macao and at international levels by turns will be established to improve global influence of the forum. Hu urged the forum to draw up managerial plans of the forum, keep pace with the times, deepen cooperation in tourist industry and promote development of tourism economy, which will consequently lead to recovery, revitalization and prosperous development of tourist industry.
He Chaoqiong expressed her gratitude to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for its longstanding and strong support to the development of Macao’s culture and tourism as well as the Global Tourism Economy Forum. She indicated that the forum will deepen cooperation between international organizations and tourist industry, carry out more international cooperation, help Macao to build itself into the world center of tourism and leisure and tell China’s stories well.
