In the morning of October 11th, Wang Qingxian, governor of Anhui province, met the foreign envoys to China who would attended the 6th annual conference of the World Cultural Forum. Zhou Xi’an, vice governor participated in the meeting.
The member of the envoys were from 11 countries, including Cambodia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Thailand, Moldova, Sri Lanka, Russia, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Lebanon and Ukraine. Envoys included but not limited to Khek M. Caimealy, Cambodia’s ambassador to China, Zeynalli Akram, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to China, Abdulkadir Emin Onen, Turkey’s ambassador to China, Atthayut Srisamut, Thailand’s ambassador to China, Dumitru Braghiș, Moldova’s ambassador to China, and Palitha Kohona, Sri Lanka’s ambassador to China.
Wang Qingxian extended his welcome to envoys. He said that the idea to build a community for mankind with a shared future brought up by Chinese president Xi Jinping had gained wide recognition and support in the international society. Culture was a spiritual home for people and communication and mutual-learning between civilizations were necessary to build a community for mankind with a shared future. Anhui province was an important origin for Chinese civilization. The northern province witnessed the creation of Confucianism and Taoism which were significant parts of traditional Chinese culture. In the modern era, Anhui had been a home to various thoughts, active cultural activities and many cultural celebrities, so this place had been playing an important role in the promotion of the communication and mutual-learning between different civilizations. With the opportunity offered by the forum, we would build a high-end dialogue platform for cultural communication and mutual learning, so as to enhance exchange, reach consensus, improve cooperation and contribute more to the cultural communication and civilization progress in the world.
On behalf of envoys to China, Khek M. Caimealy, Cambodia’s ambassador to China, and Zeynalli Akram, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to China, said that Anhui had profound history and culture and it’s thriving economic and social development was improving. They hope there would be closer communication and cooperation in every aspects, so as to enhance friendship and carry out win-win cooperation.
On October 12th, the 6th annual meeting of the Taihu World Cultural Forum was held in Bengbu, a city on the geographical boundary of the north and south China. The theme was “Mutual Learning among Civilizations: Jointly Building a Community of Shared Future for Mankind”. There were more than nearly 500 guests from home and abroad from more than 30 countries and regions participated in the conference through online and offline methods. The annual meeting was composed of the opening ceremony, general assembly, theme forum, topic dialogue and other events. Attendees included politicians from home and broad, representatives of international organizations, ambassadors to China as well as experts and scholars. They exchanged ideas on six major topics challenging the whole world, including cultural diversity, the “belt and road” initiative, pandemic prevention and control, ecological construction, poverty alleviation and scientific and technological development.
