On October 11th, the launching ceremony of the “Trip to Discover China” of foreign diplomats to China and Beijing’s development and promotion conference of cultural and tourism resource was held in Beijing. Hu Heping, Chinese minister of culture and tourism, and Wang Ning, vice chairman of Beijing CPPCC and the president of the National Center of Performing Arts, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Attendees included ambassadors to China from Greece, Algeria, United Arab Emirates, DPRK, Lebanon and Malta as well as 40 culture and tourism diplomats from 34 countries.
Hu Heping said in his speech that China’s couldn’t develop without the world and the world’s prosperity needed China. “Discovering China” was a process to find and share development opportunities and realize win-win progress. Currently, the Covid-19 was spread in the world, sending great shock to the development of the international cultural communication and tourism development. China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism was willing to work with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of every countries to jointly plan for the recovery and development of international culture and tourism industry in the “post-pandemic” era. The China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and other five cities and provinces held a series of events called “Trip to Discovering China”. It’s a trip of discovery to visit this piece of land; to admire China’s beautiful rivers and mountains and to experience Chinese civilization with a long history. It’s also a trip of friendship to have a personal experience of China’s change and development in the current era; to have a clear idea of China’s charm and vitality and to understand a real, three-dimensional China in all aspects. He hoped foreign diplomats to China could go to more places to see more and hear more and to feel the integrated beauty of “poetry and travel”, so as to make full use of this trip.
Wang Ning said in his speech that cultural and tourism communication and cooperation are important ways to connect people and enhance friendship as well as basis of international communication and cooperation. Beijing was a city of traditional culture and modern civilization, a famous world cultural city and an international tourism city thanks to it’s history, fashion ideas, diversity and inclusiveness. It would make full use of the opportunities offered by Beijing Olympic Games and Winter Paralympics Games to optimize the supply of tourism products; to establish quality tourism routes; to shape brands of “wondering in Beijing”, “Bright Beijing” and “journey in Beijing”; to promote the integrated development of tourism and animation, movie, performance and sports; to improve the construction of major cultural and tourism projects like Universal Beijing Resort and build 100 experience base of culture and tourism and to create the most influential cultural festival in the world.
In the development and promotion conference, Beijing Cultural and Tourism Bureau introduced latest cultural and tourism resource in Beijing and relating policies. Ambassadors to China and culture and tourism diplomats gave high comment to China’s abundant cultural and tourism resource, especially that of Beijing. They also had personal experience of profound Chinese civilization with a long history. They said that they would do their best to introduce China’s scenic beauty and amazing culture to the people of their country, so as to promote the cultural exchange and tourism cooperation with China and to contribute to the global economic recovery and development.
After participating in the first event in Beijing, diplomats to China would continue to initiate the “trip to discovering China” in Chongqing, Hubei, Henan and Guizhou.
