On September 23rd, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee held a forum of cultural high-quality development in Shenzhen. Huang Kunming, publicity minister of the CPC Central Committee and member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, attended the forum and said that they needed to learn important speeches of cultural construction and the promotion of the high-quality development delivered by general secretary Xi Jinping; to respond to new requirements of the era; to meet people’s new expectation; to push forward the high-quality cultural development with more effort and to create a new condition to build a socialist country with strong culture.
Huang Kunming said that the past 100 years was a history for the CPC to lead people for achievements as well as a journey for CPC to stick to dreams and belief, to shoulder responsibility and to lead cultural development. There were requirements to promote high-quality cultural development, including: sticking to the direction of socialist advanced culture; adhering to the right direction and innovation; following the thought banner; promoting the value of the main stream; enriching the high-quality cultural supply; offering high-efficiency cultural service and nourishing national character and leading social fashion with advanced and strong culture.
Huang Kunming stressed that the government needed to take new tasks and situation into consideration; to focus on people’s urgent problems; to explore and construct cultural products’ creation, production, promotion and assessment mechanisms and to offer more healthy and nutritious spiritual food for people. Relating department needed to have firm cultural confidence; protect, inherit and develop outstanding traditional Chinese culture; enhance the reform of the cultural system; stimulate vitality for cultural creativity and improve the influence of Chinese culture.
Before the conference, Huang Kunming also visited the 17th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry.
