On July 9th, 2021, the 9th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo was held in the Venetian Macao Jinguang Exhibition Center. It’s hosted by the Tourism Bureau of Macao SAR and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. This was the first large-scale tourism exhibition organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism outside of the mainland of China in this year since pandemic prevention and control had became a regular move. Governments in more than 21 provinces (districts and cities), including Shanxi province, Heilongjiang province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, organized teams to participate the expo in Macao. The theme was “Beautiful China·Xindiyan”. There were 230 exhibition booths in the 2070-square-meter hall. Through meticulous planing and attention of governments from provinces (districts and cities), there were innovation and improvement in several aspects, including exhibition design and promotion forms, so the new trend of cultural and tourism integration was fully presented. There would be more than 16 diverse promotion and development conferences, more than 90 performances and a “Flash Mob” in Macao’s communities, all of which were welcomed by compatriots in Macao.
Recently, the 9th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo was a tourism promotion event of the largest scale in Hong Kong and Macao by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It would be a driving force for the recovery and development of the group tourism in Macao and the mainland of China.
Those cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony were He Honghua, vice chairman of the CPPCC and people in charge of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macao SAR, government of Macao SAR and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
