2020 Cultural Tourism Festival of Suqian (Capital of Chinese Liquor) started on April 18th in Suqian city of Jiangsu province, with the theme of “warmth in the capital of Chinese liquor and dream in Suqian”. There were three events in the launching ceremony, including the opening ceremony, Guyu Forum and Guests in the capital of Chinese liquor. Attendees were representative of China Alcoholic Drinks Association, heads of China Tourism Association, experts of liquor industry, people in charge of famous liquor enterprises, people in charge of major travel agencies, people in charge of cultural and tourism enterprises in neighbouring cities and well-known scholars in culture.
With liquor, one could make friends from far away. With a festival to get together with friends, one could discuss the future of the capital of liquor. 2020 Cultural Tourism Festival of Suqian was an important platform to present image, to increase influence, to promote culture and tourism and to attract businesses and investment. It’s a cultural communication as well as an economic and trade negotiation that could “attract ordinary people, improve the popularity and increase morale”. In the following month, there would be 26 major activities centering around stimulating consumption potential, integrating the development of cultural and tourism industries, accelerating the construction of the Capital of Chinese Liquor, starting cultural exchange and initiating economic and trade negotiation.
Suqian city had natural advantage to build “the Capital of Chinese Liquor”. From a historical point of view, Yanghe and Shuanggou boasted long history. Brewing in Yanghe started in Sui Dynasty and Tang Dynasty and peaked at Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. Shuanggou was rated as the place with the best natural brewing environment and the original area of natural liquor. In terms of brand Yanghe was one of the eight most famous liquors in China while Shuanggou, one of the thirteen most famous liquors in China. In term of industry, Yanghe Town and Shuanggou Town were production bases of Jiangsu Yanghe Brewery Joint-Stock Co., Ltd. The annual production was 168.3 thousand towns. There’s also supporting enterprises and a series of time-honored brands like Qiantian and Yuzhen. Information above could support Suqian to transform into “the Capital of Chinese Liquor”.
Zhang Aijun, secretary of Suqian municipal CPC committee, said at the opening ceremony that Suqian would see this grand festival as an opportunity to build “the Capital of Chinese Liquor”. The government would implement the three-year plan to develop liquor industry, in which relating enterprises would be expand and a industrial cluster with unique advantage would be formed with leading enterprises as a guide, special liquor enterprises as participators and advantageous industries as supports. The government would promote the high-quality cultural development and the cultural construction of canal culture by developing market players, optimizing structure and layout, nurturing new type of businesses and enhancing policy guarantee. Local government would also pay attention to all-for-one tourism, produce more special goods for tourism, establish classic tourism route and speed up the construction of the famous tourist destination.
According to the introduction, the event could be divided into the opening ceremony, cultural and tourism events and economic and trade activities. The launching ceremony included the opening ceremony, Guyu Forum and Guests in the capital of Chinese liquor. There were 14 well-designed cultural and tourism events, including on-going 2020 Spring Outing near Luoma Lake and two-day trip to experience Suqian as a liquor capital. Some events were going to be held, like the 10th China Rose Exhibition, tourism promotion of “playing in Suqian, Capital of Chinese Liquor”, the product launch of tourism products of spring and summer and Santashan Natian Spring Music Festival, Linhuai Fisherman Family Custom Food Festival and the 4th Hot Spring Beer and Lobster Music Festival, 2020 China Suqian Luoma Lake the 2nd International Sand Sculpture Exhibition, May 1st series of event of Chengzi Lake, theme experience of the hometown of Xiang Yu with the theme of “Visit to Western Chu Dating Back Thousands of Years Ago” and 2020 Suqian Gourmet Festival. In addition, there were 9 other economic and trade event, including Liquor Capital Tourism Exhibition, Liquor Tasting, Seal Ceremony, Jingdong· Liquor Capital Suqian Brand Day Online Event, the communication on innovative development of “e-commer in Taiwan” and the 2020 Canal Brand E-Commerce Conference.
