On May 19th, in Wenquan county held the launching ceremony of the 2020 “China Tourism Day” and a series of Bortala cultural and tourism events as well as the opening ceremony of the Hot Spring Grassland Festival
At 11 o’clock, Darinta, secretary and deputy director of leading party group of the standing committee of the local people’s congress of the Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, announced the opening of a series of cultural and tourism events of the 2020 “5·19 China Tourism Day” and the Hot Spring Grassland Festival. Hardly had he finished talking, salvos were fired to the sky. The colorful sky accompanied the thunderous applause.
All audience were wearing masks and kept certain interval distance. Members of working stuff were busy keeping everything in order to be sure that protective measures were implemented. The event was going on in an order way.
Amazing opening ceremony won warm applause from the audience. After the ceremony, in Bortala Race Course in Wenquan County, Pattaya Holy Hot Spring, Shengquan Hotel, and Sanquan Yudu held a series of events, including singing, dance, martial art, taekwondo, international style of ballroom dancing, model airplane performance, custom sports competition, discount of hot spring city, promotion of geographical indication product and live commerce.
Wenquan county in Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture was one of the places in China with most geothermal resource. It had the reputation of the “town of Chinese hot spring”. Apart from hot spring resource, the county was also home to 58 thousand mu (1 mu equaled to about 666 square meters) of wetland, more than 8000 mu of forest in river valleys and large areas of forest, grassland, glacier and alpine meadow, all of which made the city a giant and natural ecological park.
This cultural tourism festival in the Wenquan county had a major business which was health tourism with hot spring. On May 4th, Zhang Lina, a 62-year-old woman, came to the tourism festival from Urumchi with her husband. She said, “we have spent a period of time in Wenquan county every year in the last two years. We take bath in hot spring and breathe the fresh air in this place. It’s good for our health.”
Sound ecology made specialties relating to hot spring famous in nearby areas and those far away. Customers were eager to buy more than a hundred kinds of “hot spring gifts”, including cold water fish, Auricularia cornea Ehrenb, Lucid Ganoderma and triticale.
Apart from green mountains and lucid water, Wenquan county was also home to more than 200 cultural relics sites, among which, Atuncholu cemetery and historical site was rated as one of the ten new national discovery of 2012. in addition, the little county was the hometown of many nationalities, so in there, visitors could see ancient and colorful intangible cultural relics and experience the cultural attraction of multiple nationalities.
Wang Fan, a tourist from Karamay, said that, “the hot spring boosts scenic beauty and cultural accumulation, so it’s a place worth your close attention.”
“The 4th Cultural and Tourism Festival” in the Wenquan county lasted till May 15th. Before the end, there would be multiple events, including taking bath in the hot spring, horse racing, admiring the beauty of prunus flowers and Bortala fishing competition, automobile and motorcycle cross-country time trial, low-flying hot air balloon, the kite festival of the city of spring, “hello, spring” photography competition and so on. Many favorable policies were established in the Wenquan county to attract customers as well as award and subsidy would be given to hotels, home stay and agritainment which improved and upgraded their services.
