Qin Gang, Vice Foreign Minister, Met Caroline Wilson DCMG, the Newly Appointed English Ambassador to China

    On November 9th, 2020, Qin Gang, vice foreign minister, met Caroline Wilson DCMG, the newly appointed British ambassador to China.

    Qin Gang said that China and UK were two influential countries and main economies in the world. Against the background of increasing global challenges and spreading pandemic, enhanced cooperation between our two countries was conducive to not only our own interest, but also to the world’s peace, stability and development. He hoped that China and UK could jointly improve mutual-trust and mutual-respect, handle differences and push forward practical cooperation to fight against the pandemic and to recover economy. He expected that Ms. Ambassador could expend more effort in these aspects.

    Caroline Wilson DCMG said that she had seen China’s daily changes by herself. UK attached great importance to our relationship. The British government was willing to strengthen it’s high-level development with China and to have more cooperation with China in terms of climate change, vaccine research and development and other issues. As an ambassador to China, she was willing to contribute more to the healthy development of China-British tie.
