From December 4^th to 6^th, Hu Heping, minister and secretary of leading party group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, went to Wuhan City and Yichang City of Hubei Province for researches of prevention and control of the pandemic, recovery and development of tourism as well as protection, inheritance and promotion of Yangtze River culture. He traveled along the Yangtze River in the night. He went to Hubei Provincial Museum, Yellow Crane Tower scenic area, Wuhan People’s Theater, Hankow Customs House Museum, Panlongcheng National Archaeological Site Park, Sanyoudong Scenic Area, Three Gorges Village Scenic Area, Xu Jiachong Village and the cultural scenic area of Quyuan’s hometown. He discussed with stuff members and the grass roots. During the research, Hu Heping communicated with Ying Yong, Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee, and Wang Xiaodong, governor and deputy secretary of CPC Provincial Committee. Accompanied the research were Zhou Ji, secretary of the Yichang CPC Municipal Committee and member of the Standing Committee of Hubei Provincial Party Committee, and Zhang Wenbing, vice governor of Hubei Province.

    Hu Heping said that in the fight against the Covid-19, Hubei provincial government and provincial party committee made overall plans to successfully prevent and control the pandemic, thus stopped the spread of the pandemic. Relating people voluntarily sacrificed and contributed to the fighting against the pandemic. The prevention and control of the pandemic had became a regular move. Against such background, Hubei provincial government and provincial party committee had made an overall plan for the work recovery and established multiple favorable policies, thanks to which, cultural and tourism market had the tendency to resume it’s previous condition. What especially worth people’s attention is an event called “travel with love and beneficial tourism policy in Hubei Province” which benefited tourists, helped enterprise and expressed gratitude to all Chinese to overcome difficulties and achieved excellent social and economic influence. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism should give more support to cultural construction and tourism development and should implement the spirit of important instructions given by general secretary Xi Jinping when he went to Hubei Province to inspect prevention and control of the pandemic, so as to solve difficulties and specific problems.

    Hu Huping also said that the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee make an overall plan for the Chinese social and economic development plan in the “14^th Five Year Plan”. It’s clearly stipulated the main aims and important tasks of cultural construction. Cultural and tourism system needed to see Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as guidance; fully implement the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee; plan for cultural and tourism work in the “14^th Five Year Plan”; provide outstanding art and cultural product and high-quality tourism products; improve abilities through culture and see it as a driving force and push the integrated development of culture and tourism, so as to contribute to the construction of a socialist modern country.

    Hu Heping stressed that Hubei Province was with abundant resources in tourism, culture and cultural relics and was a vital province in Yangtze River economic belt. We needed to implement the spirit of important speeches delivered by the general secretary Xi Jinping in the forum to comprehensively develop Yangtze River economic belt; to protect, inherit and promote Yangtze River culture; to interpret and research Yangtze River culture; to strengthen archaeological excavation and resource study; to improve the level of cultural protection and exploitation and of the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural relics; to promote the construction of the core area of the Yangtze River International Golden Tourism. All of the above could contribute to the protection, inheritance and promotion of Yangtze River culture, so as to add more attraction to the culture of Hubei Province and tourism development.

    Those participating the research were officials from National Cultural Heritage Administration, Cultural and Tourism Department of Hubei Province and relating bureaus and departments of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
