On January 5^th of 2021, the cultural festival of member states of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS cultural festival were hold online, both of which were organized by Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Hu Heping, China’s cultural and tourism minister, and cultural minister of other countries delivered speeches via video.

    Hu Heping said in his speech given in the member states cultural festival of SCO that enhancing harmony between civilizations and communication and mutual-learning among them are more and more important amid the spread of the Covid-19 and intricate international relationship. In the 20^th Conference of the Council of Heads of State of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Chinese president Xi Jinping said that we need to connect people to people and construct a human community. He hoped that in this cultural festival, not only the excellent culture of SCO could be presented, but also people could be closer so as to contribute jointly to a community with shared future.

    Hu Heping said in his speech delivered during the BRICS Cultural Festival that global cultures and tourism have been suffering from the Covid-19, so it’s the time when we most need countries to work together. Chinese president Xi Jinping said in the 12^th meeting of BRICS leaders that we need to work out plans to fight against the pandemic and to guide the future development for BRICS. With all member states, China is willing to have an open attitude, have an open and inclusive attitude and adhere to the ideology of building a community with shared future for mankind, so as to enhance dialogue and mutual trust, to face the challenge of the pandemic and to contribute to build a wonderful world with action.

    The two cultural festivals are important cultural activities of Russia in 2020 when it’s the rotating chairman of the two organizations. China National Symphony Orchestra and China National Opera ＆ Dance Drama Theater participated the performance on behalf of China.
