Strong countries and nations are always supported by thriving culture. Since the the 18th CPC National Congress, China’s socialist culture has been developing prosperously and continuously.  

    Xi Jinping, the general secretary, points out that, “If we want art and literature to reflect people’s thoughts, we must stick to the fundamental direction of servicing people and socialism. If we want them to have the strongest effect, we need to be in line with Marxist view of art and literature and see people as center.” We step towards the direction to service people and socialism, apply the principle of “letting a hundred flowers bloom and a hundred schools of thought contend” and adhere to the principle of to staying close to reality, life and the public, all of which lie the foundation for the development of socialist culture with Chinese characteristic; guarantee that cultural achievements are shared by all people and provide strong thoughts and cultural support for China’s progress.

    Compared with the weak cultural foundation when China was founded, the country has experienced great changes in cultural construction. A vibrant socialist country with strong culture is showed to the world.

    Since the 18th CPC National Congress, cultural practitioners have been striving to achieve the goal to realize people’s wish to have better lives and to enrich people’s spiritual and cultural life. Not only art creation is being improved as a whole, but also outstanding works are introduced. People are familiar with a bunch of excellent works that sing both for people and times.

    Telling whether a country is advanced or not requires multiple standards, one of which is public cultural service. Under the lead of Chinese government and the Communist Party of China, a series of cultural projects to benefit people have been launched, including but not limited to radio and television coverage to all villages, rural film project and farm library project, to solve the problem of inadequate cultural activities and accesses to books, performance and movie. Since the the 18th CPC National Congress, along with the improvement of quality and effect of public cultural cause, there’s no longer distance between people and culture. They have rich cultural life. Scientific and cultural quality of all nations in China has been improved. A non-profit, basic and equal public cultural service system is established in China.

    Vibrant cultural productivity is indispensable for thriving cultural construction. Cultural system restructuring under the lead of the CPC emancipates and develops the productive forces, so a sound mechanism and a system for cultural development is created, which is how we realized the important breakthrough and innovation of “developing non-profit cultural programs and running cultural industries at the same time”. Especially after the 18th CPC National Congress, cultural restructuring has been deepened. The standard to measure the result of cultural construction is to see social benefit as priority and pursuing social benefit and economic benefit has became consensus. The standard can guide the direction of cultural development. At present, in the world, China has became the largest producer of TV series, the second largest movie market as well as the country with most screens in movie theaters and most museum visitors...
