The Ministry of Culture and Tourism and National Development and Reform Commission jointly establish 300 rural routes to experience tourism study, with the theme of “Experience the Achievement of Poverty Alleviation·Facilitate Rural Revitalization”, with the aims of meeting people’s increasing need of rural tourism and increasing the supply of rural tourism products and with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the special education of the history of party, new China, reform and opening-up and socialist development.
Revolutionary cultural resource and ecological resource are combined in the routes to reflect achievements of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. Examples are following. A revolutionary route named “the flavor of go to work in rural area” in the Xiadang Town in Shouning County of Ningde City in Fujian Province leads tourists to step on a road on which the general secretary Xi Jinping have went three times to visit the poverty-stricken area and to do related work in that place. Xiadang Town used to be a small village hide deeply in mountains where transportation was almost unavailable. Now, it’s a site with more than 200 thousand tourists visit annually and more than 26 million of comprehensive annual tourism income. The route called “red tourism of original aspiration” established by Anhui Province leads visitors into Dabie Mountain. The journey starts in the museum of the old site of the 7th Division of the New Fourth Army. Tourists can see Lu'an Tea Valley and Meishan Reservoir, a famous water conservancy project built after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The route guides people to go through interior areas of Dabie Mountain and to admire scenic beauty lasting a long way.
Any one of the 300 routes can enable tourists to not only appreciate the scenic beauty of mountains and river, but also CPC’s glorious traditions, precious experience and great achievements and stories from history of party, new China, reform and opening-up and socialist development. After gaining a thorough understanding, the project can help to inherit revolutionary gene, boost momentum to step forward, experience achievements of poverty alleviation and support rural revitalization.
Since this year, departments of culture and tourism of every level have been complementing decisions and arrangements of the State Council as well as spirit of important speeches delivered by the general secretary Xi Jinping. The recovery and development of rural tourism are important driving forces to consolidate the achievement of poverty alleviation and to comprehensively promote rural revitalization. Rural tourism resumes orderly and it’s demand for consumption also increases. In the first quarter, local governments have organized abundant rural festival activities, established high-quality rural tourism routes and special projects to meet people’s demands to go on trips in spring and to celebrate the Spring Festival at their current residing localities so as to boost the vitality of rural tourism development.
According to estimation of rural tourism monitoring center, in the first season of 2021, total number of visits relating to national rural tourism is 984 million, increased by 5.2% when compared to the first quarter of 2019. The total income of rural tourism in the whole country is 389.8 billion yuan, increased by 2.1 percent when compared to the first quarter of 2019. Rural tourism in the country recovers well and remains it’s good momentum, contributing a lot to various rural economy and the exploration of counties’ and towns’ consumption potential.
