On May 15th, the 2nd China Danzhai Intangible Cultural Heritage Week is held in Wanda Town in Danzhai County of Guizhou Province. It’s guided by Department of Intangible Cultural Heritage and Department of Resource Exploitation of Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and co-hosted by China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association, the Cultural and Tourism Department of Guizhou Province, Autonomous Prefecture People’s Government of Miao and Dong Nationalities in the Southeast Part of Guizhou Province, China Tourism Association, China Association of Travel Services and China Tourist Attractions Association. Participators are Luo Shugang, the vice director of the Committee of Culture and History Study of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Wang Xiaofeng, a member of the Leading Party Group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and chairman of China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association, Sun Da, deputy director-general of National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tan Tong, the vice governor of Guizhou Province and heads of Cultural Exchange Organization of Presenting China to the World.
Luo Shugang says that intangible cultural heritages connect people, satisfy the demand of spiritual and cultural life and improves livelihood. All sectors in a society pay utmost attention to outstanding traditional cultural. Ordinary people are more willing to care about and perform intangible cultural heritage. They are more aware to be a part of protection. A better social environment to preserve those heritages is thusly formed. We must follow the guidance of Xin Jinping’s thoughts on socialist with Chinese characteristics for a new era to improve the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, so outstanding traditional Chinese culture can maintain it’s attraction and keep up with time. He believes the 2nd China Danzhai Intangible Cultural Heritage Week has an important role to play to further promote outstanding traditional Chinese culture and to enhance nationalities’ recognition of outstanding traditional Chinese culture.
Wang Xiaofeng says that according to the outline of the “14th Five Year Plan”, systematic protection should be launched to preserve important intangible cultural heritage and cultural and natural heritage as well as to push forward the creative transition and development of outstanding traditional Chinese culture. We need to make the most of foundations coming from high-quality social and economical development to enhance systematic protection, integrated development and social participation of intangible cultural heritage. On the bases of the 1st China Danzhai Intangible Cultural Heritage Week, the second one focuses on systematic protection of intangible cultural heritage. A grand presentation of intangible cultural heritage is provided to tourists and platforms for sharing, integrated development and academic exchanges is formed for inheritors and tourists.
The 2nd China Danzhai Intangible Cultural Heritage Week lasts till May 23rd. Main contents include but not limited to the 2nd China Intangible Cultural Heritage and Tourism Integrated Development Forum, the 1st Intangible Cultural Heritage Forum on Medicine of Ethnic Minorities, Guizhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition, “Jinxiu Qiandongnan”--Workshop Achievement Exhibition of the Experiment Zone of National Culture and Ecology in the Southeast Part of Guizhou Province, a show of ten Chinese unique skills and Weekend Performance of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Colorful Guizhou Province.
