On May 16^th in Yinxiang Jialingjiang Wetland Park, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism organizes a singing activity named ‘’Singing a Song for Our Party” which is also the first Bashu Chorus Festival. The co-organizers are Ministry of Culture and Tourism Public Services Division, the Department of Culture and tourism of Sichuan Province, the Committee of Culture and Tourism of Chongqing Municipality, the National Public Culture Development Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Nanchong Municipal Government. The launching ceremony is attended by members of leading party group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Zhang Xu, the vice minister, Gan Lin, member of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Province Party Committee and the minister of Propaganda Department, and Cai Yunge, the deputy mayor of Chongqing.

    Zhang Xu says the aim of the Chorus is to highlight ideological leading and lead people to sing outstanding revolutionary songs collectively so as to sing out the main theme of this era which is “Communist Party of China (CPC) is good, socialist is good, reform and opening up is good, the great country is good and people of every nationality is good”. Chorus is liked by everyone and can tell stories of CPC vividly, so it can create a sound atmosphere to mark the 100^th anniversary of the establishment of the CPC, thus the government can encourage people to be consolidated and strive to be strong. The activity focuses on grassroots level. It uses internet to conduct online teaching. Both stages and microphones are handed to ordinary people, so there will be maximum enthusiasm. This measure can also improve the popularity, participation and satisfaction to enhance people’s senses of gain and happiness.

    In the ceremony, guests jointly ignite the “folk song map” and start “Singing a Song for Our Party” which is also the first Bashu Chorus Festival. The opening performance can be divided into three parts, namely “The Chapter of Two Cities·Sing the Song Happily”, “A Hundred Years of Effort·Sing Songs to Our Party” and “Keep Our Original Goal in Mind·Farther Journey Accompanied by Songs”. In that night, the activity is broadcast lively on dozens of internet platforms like public cultural cloud and Yang Shipin.

    The activity lasts from May 16^th to 19^th, composed by opening ceremony, chorus (exhibition), chorus popularization (shows to benefit people), the communication summit on chorus art and closing ceremony. ‘’Singing a Song for Our Party” is one of the main cultural and art activities to mark the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. Also included is the 10^th Chinese Children's Choral Festival held in Yinchuan City in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from June to July and the 21^st Chinese Senior Chorus Festival which will be held in Shenmu City of Shaanxi Province in September. Activities above will link other 75 unique singing activities in China, thus lead the fashion of singing activities among ordinary people.
