China Tourism and Cultural Week kicks off in Egypt

In the evening of June 22nd, the “A Trip of Kungfu-China Tourism and Cultural Week” event kicked off at the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo, Egypt. 

The seven-day activities were co-hosted by China Culture Center in Cairo, Museum of Islamic Art and Henan provincial department of Culture and Tourism. During the event, a series of activities, including Henan tourism photo exhibition, Chinese cultural relic exhibition, Chinese Kungfu performance and tourism and cultural promotion of Henan province, will be held. 
“It has been increasingly prevail among Egyptian people to take a trip to China as China is undergoing dramatic changes in development.” Ren Shiyue, cultural councilor of Chinese Embassy to Egypt and director of China Culture Center in Cairo, said in the opening ceremony. 
“The colorful activities of cultural week will serve as a good opportunity for Egyptian people to enjoy the charm of Chinese culture.” said Fassi Abdul Vihab, chairman of the Cultural Development Foundation of Egyptian Ministry of Culture. 
During the opening ceremony, a Chinese tourism video was released, and Chinese Kungfu has been staged at the scene. Attendees included governmental officials, experts and scholars in culture and tourism from both countries. 
The China Tourism and Cultural Week 2019, as a themed event of global inter-connectivity deployed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, aims to broadcast the integrated development of culture and tourism with the pursuit of “a beautiful China shared by the world”.
