On July 26, the Culture and Tourism Promotion of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province was held in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. During the promotion, a letter of intent on building sister cities was signed.
Khadgi, vice mayor of Kathmandu, said after the signing ceremony that both Kathmandu and Nanjing have rich historical and cultural resources. With the letter of intent signed, people from either city will have better access to the culture and art of the other, and the ties between the two cities will grow stronger.
Children from Nanjing Little Red Flower Art Ensemble delivered fascinating performance on the promotion. The whole audience cheered and applauded upon a mash-up of Chinese and Nepalese folk songs. And a photo exhibition was also held to review the Buddhist exchanges between Nanjing and Nepal.
The Administrative Committee of Nanjing Niushoushan Culture and Tourism District signed a cooperation agreement with the Arniko Society of Nepal. The Arniko Society consisting of Nepalese medical graduates studying in China has been wildly praised for providing voluntary medical services across Nepal since 2001.
