China Tourism and Culture Week kicks off in Egypt

In the evening of June 22nd, “Journey of Kung Fu-China Tourism and Culture Week 2019” kicked off in the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo.

This 7-day event was co-hosted by China Cultural Center in Cairo, Museum of Islamic Art, Culture and Tourism Department of He’nan Province. During the event, a series of activities will be held including He’nan tourism photo exhibition, Chinese cultural relics exhibition, Chinese Kung Fu performance, He’nan tourism and culture promotion, etc.
Mr. Shi Yuewen, cultural counsellor in Egypt and director of China Cultural Center in Cairo, said that China has been undergoing rapid changes, and more Egyptian are keen to have a look in China.
“As a saying goes: one eyewitness is better than ten hearsays. The colorful activities present great chance for the Egyptians to experience the charm of Chinese culture.” said Mr. Fassi Abdul Vihab, head of the Cultural Development Fund, Ministry of Culture of Egypt.
Government officers, experts, and scholars of tourism and culture from both countries attended the opening ceremony and watched the Chinese tourism promotion film and authentic Chinese Kung Fu performances.
China Tourism and Culture Week 2019, which was deployed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC, aims to broadcast the integrated development of Chinese culture and tourism, and advocate the concept of “a beautiful China shared by the world”.
