On November 29th, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China Luo Shugang and Minister of Culture and Media of the Republic of Serbia Vladan Vukosavljevic unveiled the Cultural Center of Serbia in Beijing..
“In recent years, the relations between two countries have witnessed rapid development; top-level exchanges have been enhanced; mutual political trust has been increasingly strengthened.” said Luo Shugang in his speech. In June 2016, President Xi and the former Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić attended the foundation ceremony of Chinese Cultural Center in Belgrade. Two sides have been active in cultural exchanges and cooperation with the caring of heads from two sides. Chinese brand programs themed as“Happy Spring Festival”have gained much popularity among local people and many art troupes have been sent to China to take part in “Cultural Season” events.
On behalf the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Minister Luo Shugang expressed his warm congratulations on the unveiling of the Cultural Center of Serbia. He hoped it may serves as a window for enhancing mutual understanding and a bridge to boost friendly ties between two peoples, thus contributing to promoting exchanges and cooperation in many fields, and advancing the relations between two countries to a high level.
Minister Vukosavljevic spoke highly of the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in promoting cultural cooperation between two countries, especially Chinese cooperation and assistance in the construction of Cultural Center of Serbia. He stressed that China has all along been in good terms with Serbia, as our cultural relations have seen flourishing development no matter it is in bilateral ties or “16 plus 1” (China-Centtral East Europea Cooperation) mechanism and “Belt and Road’’ framework. Besides, a cultural center was established to promote the cooperation between artists and literati to a new level.
