On February 27th, Xi’an met with the envoys to China from 11 countries including Albania, Bahrain, Ecuador, Gabonese, Jamaica, Suriname, Samoa, Chile, Iran, Japan, Vietnam who were invited to attend the 2019 Diplomat’s Journey to Xi’an during the Spring Festival.
The lantern shadows were scattered in the Tang Paradise at night; the family reunions were seen at home under the lights. A true feeling featuring the ancient and magnificent vista and an enchanted dream of returning to Tang Dynasty rose from the bottom of people’s hearts when the grand and spectacular Tang Paradise met with the colorful lantern fair. This ancient imperial garden where the lantern shadows were interwoven with the shadows in the water and the cheers and laughter coexisted with the ancient music offered a dazzling feast of Spring Festival to visitors at home and abroad. The diplomats to China, who were fully immersed in the integration of traditions and modern elements, used their cellphones to record this trip.
“The Tang Paradise is amazing at night. I am really touched by a wonderful and dynamic Xi’an through this happy trip, during which the creativity of time-honored Xi’an is also seen. Facing new opportunities, Xi’an, I believed, will achieve new progress in the future.” said Albanian Ambassador to China Selim Belortaja after visiting the Tang Paradise.
It is said that this event, which will last for three days, serves as a sincere invitation to the world in the process of building an international city. In the following days, the diplomats to China will walk into Yongding Gate to attend the Tang welcoming ceremony and visit scenic spots including the City Wall of Xi’an, Sleepless Town of Tang and modern Chinatown. Besides, a series of colorful activities, such as visiting famous scenic spots and experiencing traditional customs in Xi’an, will be held to introduce an international Xi’an to the world.
