In the evening of July 15th, the “Enthusiasm for Ink Wash Painting-The China National Academy of Painting’s Ink Wash Painting Art Exhibition” event was unveiled in the National Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the exhibition, 60 paintings featuring mountains, waters, flowers, birds and portraits have attracted many guests in Sarajevo.
“In recent years, the two countries have maintained rapid development in relations with practical cooperation in various areas” Zhou Yan, charge d’affairs and political counsellor of Chinese Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina, said in his opening speech. Meanwhile, in order to promote mutual understanding between two peoples, a series of cultural events will be held by Chinese Embassy as this exhibition is only a start.
Zhang Jiangzhou, vice president of China National Academy of Painting, said that the ink wash painting is an important carrier of fine traditional Chinese culture. Through the works exhibited, the audience could observed that the ancient Chinese ink wash technique still features contemporary quality. Besides, they could also experience unique spirit and profound spiritual connotations of Chinese culture.
Goran, an advisor to the foreign minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, watched all art works carefully. He said that it is meaningful to have a better understanding of China’s contemporary life through the eyes of painters as its ink wash paintings are rich and diverse in expression.
It is said that this exhibition will last until July 30th.
