In the evening of July 27th, 2019, the cultural event “China Cultural Month 2019”, organized by China’s embassy in Bangladesh, was unveiled in Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh. During the event, actors from the theatre club of Peking University and theatre academy of Dhaka University performed Tagore's classical play Chitra and sang and danced at the ceremony, which was highly praised by the audience.
Nearly 1,000 guests, including Liu Zhenhua, chargé d'affaires of the Chinese embassy in Dhaka, Akhtaruzzaman, vice-chancellor of Dhaka University, as well as Bangladesh officials, teachers and students of the Dhaka University, attended the inauguration ceremony.
Liu said in his speech that the “China Culture Month” will carry out a series of wonderful cultural activities as the year of 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. He hoped that these activities will build a bridge for the cultural exchanges between China and Bangladesh and lay a solid foundation for the people's minds of the two countries.
Akhtaruzzaman said that Bangladesh and China are good neighbors, friends and partners with increasingly close people-to-people and cultural exchanges. As the Peking University and Dhaka University are top universities in their countries. he hoped that they could further deepen exchanges and cooperation so as to nurture more envoys contributing to friendly exchanges between two countries.
The “China Culture Month 2019” is an important event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The Chinese embassy in Bangladesh will jointly organize a series of cultural, tourism, education and sports activities with local friendship associations, overseas Chinese and Confucius Institute in the next two months.
