From May 23rd to 25th, the “China Tourism and Culture Week” was held in Minsk and Borisov, Belarus. And a series of promotional activities on culture and tourism met with warm welcome.
Themed “China-Beyond Your Imagination”, the event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, Chinese Embassy in Belarus, Network Center of International Cultural Exchange, and sponsored by the Culture and Tourism Department of Shaanxi Province and China Culture Center in Minsk.
On 23rd, Luo Zhanhui, counsellor to Belarus, addressed the opening ceremony. “With the support of the heads of both countries, China and Belarus now have a stronger comprehensive strategic partnership of mutual trust and win-win cooperation, frequent bilateral exchanges, and fruitful cooperation in many fields. And the deepening cooperation in culture and tourism is now playing a significant role that catches the eyes of many.” he said.
Former Minister of Culture of Belarus Svetlov said that the cooperation on culture and tourism has huge potential given the rich tourism resources in both countries.
A short video China-Beyond Your Imagination, a promotion film of Shaanxi tourism, and a `video clip of “Happy Spring Festival in Belarus 2019” were released on the opening ceremony. Besides, a series of Shaanxi tourism promotional activities was a huge success on the opening ceremony: the palace music and dance, Guqin, and Shakuhachi performances by Shaanxi Art Troupe; Chinese Kung Fu by Belarusian teenagers; photo exhibitions themed “Beautiful China-Harmony between Men and Nature” and “Beautiful China-Shaanxi: Tourism Destination with Best Historic and Cultural Values”; VR tour to Shaanxi; and Shaanxi food tasting.
Glamour of Shaanxi, a special performance of Shaanxi Art Troupe, was staged at Cultural Palace in Borisov and Belarusian Youth Palace on 24th and 25th respectively. Gu Jingsong, deputy director of Shaanxi Department of Culture and Tourism, said in his speech that Shaanxi, as the starting point of ancient Silk Road and one important stop of Belt and Road Initiative, boasts rich resources in history, culture and tourism . He hoped that Belarusian friends could know more of Shaanxi and China through the promotion so as to lay a solid foundation for future close cooperation.
“The fascinating performances impressed us all”, said Kopkova, vice president of the Executive Committee of Borisov. She welcomes more cultural and tourism projects of Shaanxi to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between two countries.
The wonderful performances won high praises from the guests and audience.
