On March 24th, themed as “Building a Dream with Propriety and Music”, a cultural exchange activity between Chinese and Vietnamese youths was held in the capital city Hanoi, Vietnam. The youths from two countries exchanged thoughts on Confucian culture by virtue of calligraphy, music and dances to deepen traditional China-Vietnam friendship.
Chinese and Vietnamese youths from Nanning Normal University, Hanoi University and the Affiliated High School of Foreign Language University under the Hanoi University performed dazzling shows including ensemble work “High Mountains and Flowing Water”, classic dance Homecoming after the War, poetry chant ABC of Sound Meters in Chinese Poetry. Moreover, Chinese youths also learned to sing Vietnam folk songs while Vietnamese youths engaged in colorful traditional Chinese cultural activities such as paper-cutting, calligraphy, Chinese knot making.
“As an important part of both traditional cultures, the Confucianism serves as a friendship bond connecting two peoples. This event was held against the backdrop of strengthening “Belt and Road” and Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, aiming at boosting the people’s connectivity, deepening China-Vietnam friendship and promoting win-win cooperation.” Peng Shituan, cultural counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, said when addressing the exchange.
“The thoughts and actions in some Asian countries including China and Vietnam have been deeply affected by Confucianism whose fine values have been preserved and passed from generations to generations. Therefore, to strengthen exchanges on Confucianism will promote mutual understanding among youths and deepen Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic partnership.” said Do Nam Trung, vice head of the Department of Northeast Asian Affairs under the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
