On July 23, the 8th Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp and Teacher Workshop opened in Kunming, Yunnan Province. More than 300 teachers and students from 37 countries and regions participated in the event, thus the scale of offline participants reached a record high. This event played a positive role in further promoting the “Belt and Road” cooperation and exchanges in science, technology and culture.
With the theme of “Dream of Future Science, Dedication to Better World”, there are four science and technology theme camps and ten science and technology cultural exchange activities.
At the opening ceremony, the International Initiative for Collaborative Innovation in Science Education under the BRI Framework was released, which aims to advance the development of student science and technology clubs, build an international exchange platform to join hands, establish a long-term cooperation mechanism, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Since 2017, the Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp has been held for eight years, attracting more than 40 million young people from more than 50 countries, regions and international organizations to join. In 2023, the Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp and Teacher Workshop was included in the List of Practical Projects of the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and it was the only project named after teenager.
