The 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly recently adopted a resolution by consensus to recognize the Chinese New Year as a United Nations holiday. The United Nations also want to celebrate the "New Year", this is an another example that the Spring Festival is becoming more and more international, and it’s also an another manifestation of the strong influence of Chinese culture. The Spring Festival belongs to both China and the world.

Chinese New Year is becoming a world holiday. According to incomplete statistics, nearly 20 countries have adopted the Spring Festival as a legal holiday, and about 1/5 of the world's population celebrates the Lunar New Year in different ways. In recent years, overseas "Spring Festival Trend" has been rising. Every Spring Festival, government dignitaries from many countries pay tribute to the Chinese people and send them their best wishes for the Lunar New Year. Since 2010, the "Happy Chinese New Year" series of activities has spread all over the world, from New York of the United States to Tokyo of Japan, from Madrid of Spain to Belgrade of Serbia, from Moscow of Russia to Auckland of New Zealand, with activities such as dragon and lion dances, New Year's painting, dumpling wrapping and temple fairs, etc., which have allowed people of different nationalities, skin colors and cultures to experience the traditional Chinese culture in an immersive way and to share a joyful time. The establishment of the Spring Festival as a United Nations holiday has been warmly welcomed and enthusiastically supported by the Member States of the United Nations and the staff of the United Nations Secretariat, and the Spring Festival will become more and more international.
