In 2011, under the substantial support of the Ministry of Culture and other relevant ministries and commissions, the Cultural Exchange Organization of Presenting China to the World was formally established, with "Beautiful China" as the theme of the activities, which is mainly dedicated to promoting the excellent culture of the Chinese nation, accelerating the prosperous development of cultural undertakings, deepening humanistic exchanges between China and foreign countries, promoting international investment and cooperation, enhancing the friendship and exchanges between people of different countries in the world, strengthening the country's right to speak on the international stage, and realizing the great Chinese Dream, and has become an important window for China to more about the world, and for the world to know more about China.

Diplomats from various countries in China are the main participants of the activity. The organization organizes the global envoys in China to go into the Chinese cities in-depth, and establishes a pragmatic and internationally influential exchange platform and a world bridge for the Chinese cities and global embassies in China through carrying out different forms of innovative exchange activities; and at the same time, it will promote to the world in an all-round and three-dimensional way the cityscape, humanistic landscape, natural scenery, folklore characteristics, achievements of urban development, etc., and make efforts for the economic development of Chinese cities, the development of culture and tourism industrialization, the promotion of the overall image of the city, the enhancement of the influence of the city, the creation of a new situation of attracting investments, etc., so as to enhance the influence and popularity of Chinese cities in the international community.

Since the launch of this activity, the organization has received great support from the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Council Information Office and other relevant ministries and commissions, as well as the Embassies of various countries in China, and has gained a good social reputation. In 2013, the ambassadors of 16 countries, including Italy, Pakistan, Denmark, Argentina, South Korea, Uruguay, Nigeria, Hungary and other countries, participated in the "Global Ambassador Cultural Interviews" activity organized by the organization. In 2014, the organization held "Presenting China to the World——Inner Mongolia——Aershan Tourism Promotion Conference", "Beautiful China——The Sixth China (Longnan) Qiqiao Daughter Festival and Women's Development International Forum", "Inviting Mr. Mo Yan of China and Mr. Le Clézio of France, the Nobel Prize winners for Literature, to Enter the World-Famous Ancient City of Xi'an, China". Since the 20th Party Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping has had the foresight to put forward the idea that firming up cultural self-confidence and raising the level of cultural openness is an inevitable requirement for the promotion of the great development and prosperity of socialist culture and the construction of a strong socialist cultural country, and has emphasized that firming up cultural self-confidence and raising the level of cultural openness should be achieved by means of cultural exchanges with the outside world as an important way. General Secretary Xi Jinping's strategy of "strengthening cultural self-confidence, raising the level of cultural openness, and expanding high-level foreign exchanges" is very much in line with the organization's development objectives, and provides a strong theoretical foundation and a good social environment for the future activities of the organization.
