On June 16, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Lu Yingchuan met with Iranian Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ahmadvand in Beijing. Both sides exchanged views on deepening cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Iran.

Lu Yingchuan said that China and Iran are both ancient civilizations with a long history of interaction and deep friendship between the two peoples. In recent years, cultural relations between China and Iran have continued to develop well, and have become an important and active part of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Iran. China is willing to work with Iran to implement the important consensus of the heads of state of the two countries, continue to deepen civilization exchanges and mutual understanding, strengthen the top-level design, promote the construction of the mechanism of the Joint Commission on Culture between China and Iran, strengthen the cultivation of young talents, and actively carry out cooperation on cultural heritage, so as to jointly promote the level of humanities cooperation between China and Iran to a new level.

Ahmadvand said that the relations between Iran and China are very friendly. Iran attaches great importance to the development of cultural relations between the two countries, and will continue to make joint efforts with China to enhance the level of exchanges and cooperation in the field of humanities between the two countries, close personnel exchanges between the two countries, continuously enhance the friendship and understanding between the two peoples, and build a solid humanistic foundation for deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Iran and China.
