On March 12, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) "Best Tourism Village" award ceremony was held in Ola, Saudi Arabia, and Dazhai Village in Guangxi and Jingzhu Village in Chongqing, China were awarded the "Best Tourism Village".

On the site of the award ceremony, Dazhai Village and Jingzhu Village participated in the "Best Tourism Rural Village" exhibition activity, introducing to officials of the UNWTO and representatives of other countries the fruitful achievements made in the development of rural tourism in China in recent years, and clarifying the concept of "Green Water and Green Mountain is Gold and Silver" and excellent practices in deeply exploring the excellent traditional Chinese culture, promoting the deep integration of culture and tourism, promoting common prosperity, and promoting the overall revitalization of rural areas. The guests highly recognized the achievements of China's rural tourism development, affirmed the important role of rural tourism in enhancing the well-being of China's rural residents, improving the ecological environment of rural areas, and promoting the development of cultural inheritance, and said that China's concepts and practices of rural tourism development are worth promoting to the world.

At the offline meeting of the "Best Tourism Village" exchange platform held on the 13th, representatives of Dazhai Village and Jingzhu Village made speeches respectively, introducing the situation and experience of rural governance and development of rural tourism in the two villages.

The UNWTO Best Villages for Tourism was launched in 2021 to promote the preservation of rural cultural heritage and sustainable development through tourism. 136 villages from 57 countries participated in the 2022 competition, and 32 villages were selected. Together with the first batch of villages selected in 2021, namely Yu Village in Zhejiang Province and Xidi Village in Anhui Province, China now has four villages selected by the UNWTO as the "Best Villages for Tourism", ranking first in the Asia-Pacific region in terms of the number of villages selected. The selection of Chinese villages as "Best Tourism Villages" has had a positive impact both at home and abroad, opening up a new path for Chinese villages to tell China's story and learn from each other's civilizations, and greatly boosting the confidence of China's tourism industry in perseverance, innovation and development.

In recent years, China has continued to promote the high-quality development of rural tourism, cultivate a number of international rural tourism destinations, continuously enhance the cultural attractiveness and international influence of China's rural tourism, and assist the overall revitalization of the countryside with the Chinese-style rural tourism development model, so as to promote Chinese culture to the world.
