On January 18, Hu Heping, Minister of Culture and Tourism, met with Russia's new Ambassador to China Murgulov in Beijing for an in-depth exchange of views on deepening exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism between China and Russia.
Hu Heping congratulated Morgulov on his new posting to China. He said that in recent years, under the strategic leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Putin, the China-Russia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era has maintained a high level of development. Over the past year, the cultural and tourism authorities of the two countries have jointly organized branded activities such as China's "Russian Cultural Festival", China-Russia Cultural Fair, and "Joyful Chinese New Year" in a combination of online and offline activities, which have achieved positive results in cooperation and benefited the people of the two countries. With the change of the epidemic situation, China-Russia cultural and tourism cooperation will usher in new opportunities. China is willing to work with the Russian side to jointly open up new horizons for cultural and tourism exchanges and contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
Morgulov said that cultural cooperation plays an important role in the development of Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era. Although the epidemic has affected offline cultural exchanges between the two countries, Russia-China cultural cooperation in general has maintained a positive and favorable development momentum. The Russian side is willing to continue to work closely with the Chinese side, fully explore the potential for cooperation in the field of culture and tourism between the two countries, and actively promote mutual visits and tours by outstanding cultural and artistic troupes of the two countries, and constantly deepen the exchanges and cooperation in the fields of art centers, museums, libraries and other areas, and continue to run a good brand exchange program.
