2022 "Tea for Harmony Sharing Intangible Heritage" Main Event Held in Hangzhou

On the morning of December 18, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Zhejiang Provincial People's Government co-sponsored the 2022 "Tea for Harmony Sharing Intangible Heritage" main event and "China's traditional tea-making technology and its related practices" on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity celebration ceremony was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Theater. Rao Quan, member of the party group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, delivered a video message, while Wang Gang, member of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department, Cheng Yuechong, Vice Governor of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, and Yao Gaoyuan, Deputy Secretary of the Hangzhou Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor of Hangzhou, jointly launched the ceremony. 

 In order to learn and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the protection of intangible heritage, to further promote the inheritance and promotion of tea culture, and to do a good job of following up the protection of the project of "Traditional Chinese Tea-making Techniques and Related Customs", which was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has deployed the whole country to organize the theme activity of "Tea and the World Sharing Intangible Heritage" in 2022, and held the activities of visiting, experiencing and exchanging with the public in the tea gardens, tea factories, urban and rural communities, intangible heritage museums and training centers, which were popular among the public and had strong participatory character.

 The main venue of 2022 "Tea and the World Sharing Intangible Cultural Heritage" is located in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, which includes a celebration ceremony, a conservation forum, a thematic permanent exhibition, tea culture experience activities, and a tea-themed shopping festival. The ceremony will be organized in the chapters of "The Origin of Tea", "The Tao of Tea", "The Rites of Tea" and "The Harmony of Tea", and use forms of expression to show the rich connotation of Chinese tea culture and the protection and inheritance of the practice results to the general public to popularize, carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, tell a good story of China to the world, spread the voice of China, show credible, lovely, respectable image of China. At the ceremony, 44 national-level project protection units and three related organizations involved in the Protection Working Group of "Traditional Chinese Tea-making Techniques and Related Practices" jointly released the Hangzhou Declaration on the Protection and Inheritance of Traditional Chinese Tea-making Techniques and Related Practices, opening a new chapter in the protection of "Traditional Chinese Tea-making Techniques and Related Practices"!
