On the evening of November 23, the 2022 National Local Opera Essence Exhibition, co-sponsored by the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, opened in Nanning, Guangxi. Lu Yingchuan, member of the party group and vice minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Miao Qingwang, vice chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

Lu Yingchuan said that the 2022 National Essence of Local Opera Exhibition, with the main theme of inheriting and carrying forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, will focus on displaying a number of classic operatic works and attaching importance to the cultivation and selection of the backbone talents of the new era of the opera art, which is a practical measure to implement the spirit of the 20th Party Congress, and has great significance for promoting cultural self-confidence and self-reliance, strengthening the support of talents for the construction of modernization, meeting the people's cultural needs, and enhancing the people's spiritual strength. It is of great significance. I hope that the majority of opera artists firmly grasp the historical position of contemporary Chinese literature and art in the new era and new journey, consciously undertake the mission of raising the banner, gathering people's hearts, educating new people, promoting culture and developing image, guarding the right to innovate and strive for perfection, dedicating themselves to the people with high-quality products, leading the trend with virtue, and promoting the excellent traditional Chinese culture to show a new style in the new era.

 Miao Qingwang said that Guangxi opera is rich and colorful, with rich ethnic minority flavor and distinctive southern regional characteristics. Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region party committee and government thoroughly implement the party's 20th National Congress on the construction of socialist cultural power of the strategic deployment, and solidly promote the construction of cultural and tourism powerhouse, vigorously carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, increase the development of the heritage of the opera art, opera talent training, policy support efforts, strive to create a "Guangxi with theater" brand to promote the prosperous development of the opera art. I hope that the cultural and artistic workers in Guangxi rely on the national local opera varieties convergence, display, exchange of a wide stage, strengthen learning and exchange, artistic talent, chasing artistic dreams, and climb the new peak of literature and art.

That night, Zhejiang Wu Opera Art Research Institute presented the audience with the first performance of the 2022 National Local Opera Essence Exhibition, and Wu Opera's martial arts plays Fire Burning Zidu, Sizhou City, Hujia Village, Lv Bu Trains Horses, and The Breaking of Heaven's Gate Formation were brilliantly presented.

The exhibition selected 48 plays from the country to carry out 10 performances, and invited 2 martial arts performances to celebrate the performance, involving 43 art troupes in 21 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country, covering 40 local opera genres, such as Longqu Opera, Qinqiang Opera, Yueju Opera, Yu Opera, Gan Opera, Nanchang Tea Casting Opera, Yongqu Opera, Guiyu Opera, Yueju Opera, Huaihai Opera and so on. During the exhibition, academic seminars, artistic exchanges and popularization activities will also be held; set up the "2022 National Local Opera Essence Exhibition Performing Arts Inheritance Excellence" honorary awards; the implementation of low-ticket policy will promote the cultural benefits of the people; take the form of the combination of online and offline, live broadcast and performances, and to promote the dissemination of opera to improve the quality of enhanced efficiency.
