On September 22, the launching ceremony of the 2023 "Sharing this Moment Globally——Mid-Autumn Festival" global activity was held at the National Palace Museum in Hong Kong. Minister of Culture and Tourism Hu Heping, Acting Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR Government Chan Kwok-kei, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Hong Kong Lu Xinning, Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Hong Kong Fang Jianming, Chairman of the Board of Directors of China National Tourism Corporation Chen Yin, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bauhinia Foundation Foundation Research Center Xu Zhengzhong, attended the ceremony.
At the launching ceremony, young singers from 40 countries performed the event's theme song Wish People Lasted Long with cappella. The City Chinese Orchestra of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Kei Tsin Primary School Choir performed music and songs on the theme of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Friends from various countries sent their blessings for the event in the form of videos.
"Founded in 2017, the Mid-Autumn Festival is an annual event in which Chinese cultural centers and tourism offices around the world organize colorful cultural activities around the Mid-Autumn Festival to explain to the people of various countries the reunion, harmony and happiness that the Mid-Autumn Festival implies, The Mid-Autumn Festival has become an important cultural event in China's history and has become an important part of the Chinese culture. After years of effort, this event has become one of the most important traditional Chinese festival brands, welcomed by people from all countries and a useful platform for showcasing traditional Chinese culture and promoting civilization exchanges and mutual understanding.
The event will last until October 6, and all overseas Chinese cultural centers and tourism offices will create a festive atmosphere and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with local people through a series of activities, including cultural performances, poetry recitation contests, intangible cultural heritage experiences, food tasting, mooncake making, movie screenings and cultural salons.
During his stay in Hong Kong, Hu Heping met with the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr. Li Jiachao, on September 21 at the Government House in Hong Kong. The two sides expressed the need to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the Mainland and Hong Kong in the field of culture and exchanges from both sides.
On September 22, Hu Heping awarded plaques to two projects, namely, Hong Kong Tin Hau Festival and Hong Kong Chinese Long Sleeve Making Technique, which were included in the fifth batch of national representative projects list of intangible cultural heritage.
