In the afternoon of August 30, China-Arab Countries Animation Industry Forum opened in Suzhou Culture and Art Center Grand Theater. Lu Yingchuan, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, Xu Yingying, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, Emile Nabih, First Secretary of State of the Ministry of Culture of Egypt and Director of the Minister's Office, delivered speeches, and Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary General of the League of Arab States, delivered a video message. Wu Qingwen, Deputy Secretary of Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Suzhou, presided over the opening ceremony.

Co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and the Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the forum set up the theme of "New Era of Animation and Animation Creating the Future", and guests from nine countries and regions, including Egypt, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Tunisia, and Chinese guests, totaling about 200 people, gathered together to plan the development of the industry and talk about China-Arab friendship, recount the Sino-Arab friendship, and look forward to the bright prospects of the construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative".

Lu Yingchuan said in his speech that President Xi Jinping put forward "Eight Common Actions" for Sino-Arab practical cooperation when attending the first China-Arab Summit, which pointed out the direction for Sino-Arab exchanges and cooperation in the new era. China and Arab countries are both at an important stage of economic and social development, and share common development goals in the field of cultural industry, with broad prospects for cooperation. China is willing to work with the Arab side to implement the Global Civilization Initiative, closely cooperate in humanistic exchanges between China and the Arab countries, promote high-quality cooperation between China and the Arab countries in the field of cultural industry, and create new highlights for the two sides to jointly build the "Belt and Road Initiative".

Xu Ying said that in recent years, Jiangsu has taken the initiative to integrate into the major national strategies and deepen the construction of the "Belt and Road" intersection. Jiangsu attaches great importance to the development of animation industry, and hopes to work with Arab countries to take animation as a medium, a pioneer and a link to build a bridge of civilization mutual learning and mutual appreciation, a bridge of industry reciprocity and mutual benefit, a bridge of technology mutual promotion and mutual advancement, so as to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two sides to a new level.

Emil said that the Arab-China Animation Industry Forum is organized to implement the results of the first Arab-China Summit to be held in 2022, and thanked the Chinese side for its efforts in organizing the forum, believing that the event will further promote Arab-China cultural cooperation. It is hoped that the two sides will make joint efforts to consolidate the traditional friendship between Afghanistan and China, and to close the humanistic exchanges between the two countries.

Haifa said in his video message that both Arab countries and China have splendid historical and cultural heritage, and the Arab side treasures the friendship between Arab and China, hoping that this forum will strengthen the cooperation between Arab and China in animation industry, deepen mutual understanding between the youth of the two sides, and jointly sow the seeds of friendship between Arab and China. The Secretariat of the League of Arab States will continue to deepen humanistic exchanges with the Chinese side, constantly broaden the field of cooperation, and promote exchanges and mutual understanding between the two civilizations.

At the opening ceremony, a number of Chinese and Arab organizations jointly signed the initiative for the establishment of the Animation Industry Alliance, signed contracts on TV animation co-production, animation film co-production, film digitalization cooperation and animation film and television and technical services, and four pairs of Chinese and Arab colleges and universities signed the cooperation documents to jointly promote the cultivation of animation and art talents. During the forum, the investment promotion meeting for urban digital culture industry and three theme forums for enterprises, colleges and universities and young people will also be held to further promote extensive exchanges and in-depth cooperation between China and Argentina in animation.
