On April 8, Mr. Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, and Mr. Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, met with a delegation of ambassadors and envoys of various countries in China visiting Sichuan in Chengdu.

During the meeting, Wang Xiaohui, on behalf of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, welcomed the delegation and briefly introduced the economic and social development of Sichuan Province. He said, Sichuan since ancient times, enjoys the reputation of "the country of heaven", where has a long history and culture, rich natural resources, complete industrial system, strong scientific and educational strength, and a unique and important position in the national development layout, especially in the implementation of the western development strategy. The CPC Central Committee attaches great importance to the work of Sichuan, and General Secretary Xi Jinping has visited Sichuan many times and made a series of important instructions, writing blueprints and guiding the direction of Sichuan's modernization and construction, in particular, giving us the mission of building a strategic highland for opening up to the west and a new base for engaging in international competition, which provides a fundamental guideline for us to promote high-quality development and open up to the world at a high level. At present, we are deeply implementing the spirit of the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the decision-making and deployment of the CPC Central Committee, adhering to the combination of "inviting in" and "going out", and promoting the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative in the light of the actual situation. We will vigorously promote all-round exchanges between Sichuan and other countries, localities and international organizations, and promote pragmatic cooperation in governmental exchanges, economy, trade and investment, science and technology innovation, education and medical treatment, humanistic exchanges, etc., and strive to provide strong support for high-quality development with high-level opening up. All of them said that Sichuan has profound cultural heritage, unique resource endowment and great development potential, and that they will continue to pay attention to Sichuan, promote Sichuan, actively play the role of a bridge, fully explore the potential of cooperation, and promote the host countries to further strengthen exchanges with Sichuan to realize common development.
