The Second Meeting of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference successfully completed its agenda and closed on the morning of March 10 at the Great Hall of the People. The meeting called on all participating units of the CPPCC, organizations at all levels and CPPCC members to unite more closely around the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, to work with one heart and one mind, and to make concerted efforts to constantly open up a new situation for the work of the CPPCC in the new era.
The meeting was chaired by Wang Huning, Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee. Vice-Chairmen of the CPPCC Shi Taifeng, Hu Chunhua, Shen Yueyue, Wang Yong, Zhou Qiang, Pabara Gelielangjie, He Houhua, Liang Zhenying, Bartel, Su Hui, Shao Hong, Gao Yunlong, Chen Wu, Mu Hong, Xian Hui, Wang Dongfeng, Jiang Xinzhi, Jiang Zuogun, He Zhanxiang, Wang Guangqian, Qin Boyong, Zhu Yongxin and Yang Zhen took their seats in the front rows of the podium.

At 9 a.m., the closing session began. Wang Huning announced that the second meeting of the Fourteenth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference should be attended by 2,162 members, and the actual attendance was 2,085, which was in accordance with the required number.
The Conference adopted the Resolution of the Second Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference on the Work Report of the Standing Committee, the Resolution of the Second Session of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC on the Report on the Work of the CPPCC on Proposals since the 14th CPPCC First Session, the Report of the Committee on Proposals of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC on the Examination of Proposals of the 14th CPPCC Second Session, the Political Resolution of the Second Session of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC Political Resolutions.
Wang Huning said in his speech that the 14th Second Session of the CPPCC National Committee is an assembly that holds high the flag, strives for practical work, and unites and advances, gathering positive energy and invigorating the spirit. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State Council and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, and other leading comrades of the Party and the State attended the opening and closing sessions of the conference, visited the members and took part in the joint group discussions, and discussed national affairs with the members. All the members carefully studied the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the joint group meetings of members from the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, science and technology sector, and environmental resources sector, etc., discussed in depth the work report of the government and other reports, carefully considered the report on the work of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the report on the work of the CPPCC Standing Committee and the report on the work of the CPPCC Proposals, etc., and actively put forward proposals to support the political process and broadly build up a common understanding, thus obtaining fruitful results of the discussion on politics. All the members highly praised the CPC Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, for uniting and leading the whole Party, the country and all ethnic groups in the past year to work hard and forge ahead, successfully realizing the major expected goals of economic and social development, and leading the "China" ship to cut through waves and advance bravely. All the members of the Committee realized more deeply the decisive significance of the "two establishments" for us to deal with all kinds of risks and challenges and to promote the development of the Party and the country.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the CPPCC, said Wang Huning. Over the past 75 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China , the CPPCC has actively engaged in the great practice of establishing a new China, developing a new China, exploring the path of reform and realizing the Chinese dream, and has gone through a glorious course. The CPPCC should adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, study in depth and thoroughly comprehend General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on strengthening and improving the work of the CPPCC, adhere to the general keynote of seeking progress while maintaining a steady course, adhere to the organic combination of Party leadership, united front and consultative democracy, adhere to the two major themes of unity and democracy, carry forward the excellent traditions, bear in mind the political responsibility, and improve the level of political consultation, democratic supervision, and participation in and deliberation on politics; always plan and carry out its work in the context of the overall situation of the Party and the State; and perform its functions and gather strength around the advancement of Chinese-style modernization. It is necessary to raise the political status, implement adherence to the overall leadership of the CPC into the work of the CPPCC and reflect it in practical actions, and unite and guide people from all parties and groups and all ethnic groups participating in the CPPCC to unswervingly listen to and follow the Party. We should focus on key tasks and boost Chinese-style modernization with high-quality proposals. We should adhere to the principle of great unity and solidarity, and widely gather strength for the promotion of Chinese-style modernization.
We should unite more closely around the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, write practical work, responsibility and commitment on the new journey to promote Chinese-style modernization, and unite and strive for the comprehensive construction of a modernized socialist country and the overall promotion of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, Wang Huning said.
