On August 17th, the 10th West China Cultural Industries Expo co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Radio and Television Administration, and the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government opened at the Xi'an International Convention and Exhibition Center. Zhao Gang, the Governor of Shaanxi Province, attended the event and announced the opening. Rao Quan, member of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, also attended the event and delivered a speech. Sun Daguang, member of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Provincial Publicity Department, Xu Mingfei, Deputy Governor of Shaanxi Province, Cai Chaolin, Deputy Governor of Guizhou Province, as well as officials from relevant bureaus of the National Radio and Television Administration, representatives of provincial and municipal delegations participating in the exhibition, and important foreign guests attended the opening ceremony, totaling more than a hundred people.
Rao Quan stated that this edition of the West China Cultural Expo is not only an important window to showcase the achievements of cultural industry development in western provinces and regions, including Shaanxi, but also a significant platform to promote cooperation and exchange in the cultural industry between the eastern and western regions. Taking the opportunity of this year's Cultural Expo, efforts should be made to accelerate the establishment of a new pattern for the development of the cultural industry in the western regions and to promote the high-quality development of the national cultural industry. Emphasis should be placed on innovation-driven development to improve the quality and efficiency of the cultural industry. The integration of culture and tourism should be advanced, and mutual benefit and win-win cooperation should be continued while deepening regional exchanges.
Themed "Igniting New Energy in Industries, Creating New Chapters in Collaboration," this year's West China Cultural Industries Expo features five thematic exhibition halls and one outdoor exhibition area: the Exchange and Cooperation Hall, the Industrial Achievement Hall, the Digital Culture Hall, the Cultural and Tourism Integration Hall, and the Cultural Creativity Hall. The total exhibition area covers 72,000 square meters. The expo highlights the latest developments in the Western region's cultural system reform, digital culture, radio, television, online audiovisual, cultural accessibility, cultural heritage preservation, rural cultural revitalization, and the deep integration of culture and tourism. It showcases the new outlook of the Western cultural industry as it enters a new development stage. Guizhou, as the guest province of this year's expo, along with 12 provinces and regions in the Western region, 10 provinces and cities in the central and eastern parts of China, 21 local cities, 30 companies from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, 24 overseas institutions based in China, and over a hundred domestic companies, participated in the event. During the expo, activities such as cultural and tourism exchanges, thematic forums, project roadshows, publicity and promotion, and artistic performances will be organized. Concurrently, the 2023 Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo with the theme "New Energy, New Vitality, New Development" will also be held.
