On 25 July, Mr. Ren Zhenhe, Deputy Secretary of the Gansu Provincial Committee of CPC and Governor of Gansu Province, met with foreign guests and representatives from international organizations attending the 2023 Beautiful Countryside International Forum.

Mr. Ren Zhenhe extended a warm welcome to the guests and representatives present and expressed his gratitude to the embassies and consulates in China and the international organizations for their concern and support for the development of Gansu Province. Mr. Ren said Gansu Province used to be the province facing the heaviest task in poverty eradication in China, but thanks to the targeted poverty alleviation and eradication policies and strategic guidance from General Secretary Xi Jinping, Gansu Province has upheld its firm confidence in the fight against poverty and addressed challenges and difficulties with dedication, action, and targeted policies, building a moderately prosperous society in all aspects together with the whole country. At present, Gansu Province is fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, firmly grasping the historical shift in the focus of the work in "agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents", continuing to consolidate and expand the achievements of the poverty eradication campaign, comprehensively promoting rural revitalization, accelerating the modernization of agriculture and rural areas, in particular, deepening the practice and implementation of the"making examples of a thousand villages and renovating ten thousand villages"project in Gansu Province, focusing on "letting farmers enjoy a modern and civilized life in their local areas", putting efforts into creating harmonious and beautiful countrysides with "beautiful villages, clean yards, good social atmosphere, as well as strong industries, wealthy residents, and strong communities, promoting the organic integration of beautiful ecosystems, beautiful economies, and beautiful lives, benefiting the hundreds of thousands of peasants and rural residents. With the theme of "Promoting the Integrated Development of Agriculture, Culture and Tourism - Building a Livable, Workable and Beautiful Countryside", this year's forum hopes to help participants deepen their understanding of Gansu Province through speeches, exhibitions, expeditions, and relevant activities, and share successful experiences surrounding the common theme of agricultural and rural development, carry out wide-ranging, multi-level, and all-round exchanges and cooperation, build a community with a shared future and common development for mankind without poverty.

The guests present at the forum expressed their gratitude for the invitation to participate in the 2023 Beautiful Countryside International Forum and conveyed their wishes to strengthen communication and cooperation in various fields surrounding poverty alleviation and the construction of beautiful countryside to realize common development.
