Building modern civilization of the Chinese nation. Xi proposed to build modern civilization for the first time in light of the continuity, innovation, unity, inclusiveness and peace of Chinese civilization at the symposium. Chinese civilization is accumulated as we explore history and provides profound guidance for our survival and development. For the past hundreds of years, the CPC has stayed true to its original aspiration, tided over difficulties, and lead people of all ethnic groups to end the miserable history during which the country was humiliated, the people suffered and the civilization was tarnished. Not only do we successfully carry forward Chinese civilization but also create new forms of human civilization. To this end, we should take root in fine traditional Chinese culture, prioritize the Chinese culture and draw on all great civilizations on the basis of “two combinations”, establish civilization that is in consistent with the nation and the era, try to build a strong nation and to rejuvenate ourselves, represent the direction of progress of human civilization, and contribute to human progress under the leadership of the CPC, and try to fulfill the new cultural mission.
