The Chinese culture runs a long history and Chinese civilization is extensive and profound. During the long process of evolution, Chinese civilization has nurtured fine traditional culture. This is the foundation of the inheritance and development of a country and a nation and without it, spiritual lifeblood will be severed. General Secretary Xi Jinping stressed at the symposium that our new cultural mission in the new era is to promote cultural prosperity, build a culturally strong nation, and establish modern civilization of the Chinese nation. We should enhance cultural confidence, fulfill missions and do practical things to jointly create new culture fitting the era and build modern civilization of our nation.

Without prosperous development of socialist culture, there will be no socialist modernization. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the Party Central Committee with comrade Xi Jinping at its core has paid great attention to carrying forward fine traditional Chinese culture. After introducing effective measures, the culture has seen acceleration in its creative transformation and innovative development and Chinese civilization witnessed greater increases in its influence, cohesion and appeal. For instance, with the development of science and technology, activities such as the Internet Plus Cultural Relics and Creative Products, the Internet Plus Innovation of Contents of Cultural Relics and the Internet Plus Anime Games are enriching intangible cultural heritage. So far, the system of ICH list that covers four levels of nation,province, city and prefecture has been established. 

Each generation has their own mission and responsibility.The continuity of civilization depends on persistent inheritance and development of generations after generations and so do fine traditional Chinese culture. The new cultural mission in the new era is to promote cultural prosperity, build a culturally strong nation, and establish modern civilization of the Chinese nation. The ongoing documentary Glorious China released its promotional video, which helps explore spiritual values of fine traditional Chinese culture to the society, handle the relationship between tradition and modernity,content and form, strengthen cultural confidence and self-reliance, and facilitate our effort to establish modern civilization and a nation with strong socialist culture.

Culture is the driving force for national survival and development. It’s the necessary route to develop socialism with Chinese characteristics based on the 5,000-year-plus history of Chinese civilization and to combine the basic tenets of Marxism with our national conditions and fine traditional Chinese culture. The 20th CPC National Congress draws a blue print of building a modern socialist country on all fronts and achieving national rejuvenation through a Chinese path to modernization and defines the development goal of building a culturally strong nation and greatly improve national cultural soft power in 2035. Looking ahead, we should tell Chinese stories well and handle domestic affairs effectively on the basis of enhancing cultural confidence and encourage the whole nation to step up innovation and creativity so as to consolidate the foundation for the Chinese culture to stand firm on the world and build up great spiritual strength to work together on a new journey in the new era.
