On December 10th, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Hainan provincial government hold the 2021 (22nd) Hainan Island Carnival. The carnival started in the Century Park of Haikou. Attendees of the opening ceremony includes the Mao Wanchun, chairman of the Hainan CPPCC; Zhang Xu, vice minister and member of the leading party group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; Xiao Yingzi, member of the standing committee of the Hainan provincial party committee and the publicity minister; Kang Yaohong, deputy director of the standing committee of the Hainan people’s congress and Wang Lu, vice governor of Hainan province. Mao Wanchun, chairman of the Hainan CPPCC, announced the opening and Zhang Xu, vice culture and tourism minister, delivered a speech.
Zhang Xu said in his speech that the Hainan Island Carnival had been held for 21 times. It’s already a famous tourism and cultural festival brand with distinctive local culture feature and mass participation. He hoped that the government in Hainan should make full use of the carnival; merge and promote it’s high-quality tourism resource and optimize the international of Hainan tourism. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism would continue to support Hainan to improve reform and opening-up; to become a consumption center for international tourism and to offer assistance for the construction of a Hainan free trade port.
The 2021 (22nd) Hainan Island Carnival was composed of several events, including the opening ceremony, coconut island carnival, “happy Hainan” tourism promotion conference, 2021 (6th) Hainan world leisure tourism expo, 2021 (7th) Hainan international tourism food expo, 2021 (2nd) Hainan international tourism equipment expo, the opening ceremony of the “three exhibition” and the closing ceremony of the 2021 “22nd Hainan Island Carnival”. The “three exhibition” was held in the morning in the Hainan international conference and exhibition center. The pre-exhibition was launched the day before, attracting more citizens and tourists to experience a new fashion, to taste world food and to know the new tendency of travel equipment.
The carnival highlighted the integration of multiple elements, including the “carnival+science and technology”, “carnival+finance” and “carnival+fashion”. The events could be divided into the opening ceremony and main events, events in the main area of Haikou, branch events in cities and counties and 7 thematic tourism routes. Conference exhibition, literature, art, sport competition and promotion would beld in 5 branch halls in the main field of Haikou as well as in branch fields in Sanya, Danzhou, Qionghai, Wanning and Wenchang.
