On November 26th, the 1st China (Wuhan) Cultural and Tourism Expo was held in Wuhan city of Hubei province. Huang Kunming, the minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China and a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, attended the event and announced the opening.
Hu Heping, minister and secretary of the leading party group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the vice publicity minister, as well as Ying Yong, secretary of the Hubei provincial party committee and director of the standing committee of the provincial people’s congress, attended the event and gave speeches. Sun Yeli, vice publicity minister, attended the ceremony.
Wang Zhonglin, governor and vice secretary of Hubei provincial party committee, hosted the ceremony. Attendees included Huang Chuping, chairman of the Hubei provincial CPPCC, and Wang Ling, executive vice minister and secretary of the leading party group of the provincial people’s congress.
The theme of the expo was “beautiful China and good life”. It shows the new achievement and business of the integrated development of China’s culture and tourism as well as how their booming tendency. The exhibition hall covers an area of roughly 60 thousand square meters, an area for more than 10 thousand cultural tourism enterprises from home and abroad and tourism authorities and international tourism institutions form 15 countries including Briton, French, Portugal, ROK, Switzerland and Thailand. In the expo is the “beautiful China hall” to show the amazing scenery by the Yangtze River, the Yellow River, the Great Wall, the Great Canal and the Silk Road. Eight exhibition areas including “a trip in beautiful China”, “looking up at the sky” and “greeting world in Hubei” present the profound history as well as distinctive culture and tourism resource in Hubei. The expo also offers supportive events like mobile market, performance, business promotion and introduction, product promotion and other kinds of activities to attract enterprises and people from home and abroad.
On behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Hu Heping sent his congratulation to the opening of the expo. He said that the China (Wuhan) Cultural and Tourism Expo is a specific measure of the general secretary Xi Jinping’s instruction spirit to reinvigorate Hubei after the pandemic. Hubei boasts long history, profound culture and beautiful scenery. It’s the originating place of the ancient culture in Hubei and of the Chinese revolution in the modern history and in the contemporary era. The Hubei provincial party committee and the provincial government stipulate the goal of building “a province with strong culture” and of “world tourism destination” with the advantages of profound culture and rich tourism resource and has promoted the cultural and tourism development, so the province has became a choice for more and more tourists from home and abroad. He hoped that the expo organizers can coordinate the work for the exhibition and for the pandemic prevention and control to safeguard the security, improve the expo quality and hold a comprehensive, national and international event with quality, influence and characteristics! He hoped guests can see the expo as a chance for more communication, coordination, ideas and common development, so as to to have more effective trade and cooperation!
On behalf of Hubei provincial party committee and government, Ying Yong extended his warm welcome to all guests attending the ceremony. He said that the publicity department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will implement the instruction spirit of Xi Jinping and periodically hold the China (Wuhan) Cultural and Tourism Expo to support the invigoration and high-level development of Hubei after the pandemic. Hubei boasts profound culture and amazing scenery, so tourism and cultural industry has a good foundation and promising prospect. In recent years, we have been carrying out the statement relating to culture and tourism made by Xi Jinping and pushing forward culture’s shaping effect and culture-tourism integration, so as to improve the provincial cause of culture and tourism. In the redevelopment after the pandemic, the market for culture and tourism will experience accelerated recovery with relating events. We will learn the spirit of the 6th Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee; explore the value of the ancient culture in Hubei; promote the high-level integration of culture and tourism and create “a first-class and world-famous tourism destination”. The expo is an opportunity to enhance the exchanges and the cooperation between people of all walks of life. We can also tell Chinese story well, gather the common effort and support the high-level development with advantages of Hubei.
The expo lasts for 3 days. It’s organized by the publicity department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Hubei provincial people’s government. During the expo, there will also be events like the promotion conference of “Hubei·night of Wuhan” and the 2021 China Cultural Tourism Summit Forum.
Attendees of the ceremony includes Yang Guangrong, vice Anhui governor; Li Bin, vice chairman of the government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Wang Lu, Hainan vice governor; Tan Jiong, vice Guizhou governor; Fang Guanghua, vice Shaanxi governor; Sun Xuetao, vice Gansu governor; Xu Ning, vice chairman of the CPPCC committee of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region; Sun Hongmei, vice chairman of the governor of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region; Cheng Yongwen, mayor of Wuhan; heads of Hubei provincial government, including Guo Yuanqiang, Xu Zhengzhong, Dong Weimin, Liu Xiaoming, Zhang Wenbing and Zhang Weiguo and heads of relating national ministries and committees as well as experts, scholars and representatives of enterprises.
