On September 23rd, the 17th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair was held in the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Shenzhen. It’s an important fair held at the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the starting year of the “14th five year” plan. It’s also the first exhibition held with online and offline events as well as with the regular control methods of the covid-19. The exhibition was payed attention to by plenty of people.
The exhibition followed the general requirements to promote the high-quality development of cultural industry in a new era and to build a platform for exchange and high-end exhibition of Chinese cultural products and projects, so as to realize the goal of “new era, new cultural expo, new exhibition, new content and new effect”.
The cultural expo started in 2004 in Shenzhen which was a leading province of China’s reform and opening-up. It’s a destination for trade and exhibition of more than 100 thousand exhibits of cultural creative industries and nearly 6000 investment and financing of cultural industries. The number of exhibitors increased to 3243 of the 16th exhibition from more than 700 of the 1st one, with 31 provinces, Hong Kong, Macao and Tanwai organizing teams to participate in the exhibition for 11 consecutive years.
All governments made up a team to show the latest achievements of the cultural system reform through cultural exhibition platform. They exchanged ideas on the reform and innovation of communication and exhibition, which promoted the cultural system reform in every place. Through the exhibition, leading enterprises of cultural industries as well as industrial parks and demonstration bases of Chinese outstanding culture were inspected and found clear directions for industrial development.
In addition, the cultural fair pushed forward the cultural communication between China and the world and helped Chinese culture to be introduced in the world. In the past 17 years, the number of exhibiting countries (regions), of overseas exhibitors and the area for overseas exhibition had been increasing year after year. The fair gradually figured out an international development path to “enable business and the exhibition to support each other”.
The 17th cultural fair was held with online and offline methods for the first time. The event could be divided into three parts, namely, offline exhibition and trade, exhibition of the cloud platform as well as exchanges and supporting events. Currently, there were 2468 government teams, cultural institutes and enterprises participated in the exhibition in main hall. In addition, there were 868 exhibitors participating in the online exhibition and more than 70% of attending cultural enterprises were leading cultural companies.
The cultural fair attached high importance to the high quality, so it organized leading cultural enterprises and institutes to participate in the exhibition. The organization strove to see new pattern and business as the lead of the cultural industry, so it transformed abundant characteristic cultural resource into high-quality cultural capital as well as cultural value into economic and social value to support cultural enterprises to expand market and be strong while sticking to the right direction and carrying out social responsibility.
Attending leading enterprises of cultural industry were 25 of the “top 30 12th national cultural enterprises” included China Publishing Group Corp, China Film Co.,Ltd, Enlight Media and Fantawild. There’s also more than 100 cultural enterprises, including Duzhe Publishing & Media Corp and China Broadcast Network Co., Ltd. A bunch of leading enterprises of “culture+” participated in the exhibition.
The fair had several highlights, including “the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the CPC”, “constructing a new development structure to serve the ‘dual circulation’”, “digital strategy for cultural industry”, “the inheritance and development of outstanding traditional Chinese culture”, “the development plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and “a new type of cultural business”.
To show the theme of “the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the CPC”, the comprehensive hall for cultural industry would build “a corridor of outstanding Chinese culture” to present China’s achievement of cultural system reform and development of cultural industrial development. Organizing ministries and committees held supporting activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the CPC to exhibit and promote a series of high-quality cultural art.
To highlight “constructing a new development structure to serve the ‘dual circulation’”, the organization display cultural products of high-quality, diversity and with the function of meeting people’s true demand. On the online platform was the “belt and road”· international hall to show cultural products from home and abroad and cultural trade to show the “going out” and “bringing in” strategies of Chinese culture as well as a new path of the integration, innovation and development of Chinese and foreign culture.
The fair was held with an innovated form composed of online and offline method. It would created a “different amazing thing” and start a new situation in a changing situation according to the general requirement of high-level development.
