Zhang Xu, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism, Met Archil Kalandia, Georgia Ambassador to China

    Recently, Zhang Xu, vice minister of culture and tourism, met Archil Kalandia, Georgia ambassador to China.

    Zhang Xu said that China and Georgia had a tradition of friendship and abundant achievement for practical cooperation. In recent years, cultural cooperation plans between the two countries had been implemented nicely. Cultural communication between ordinary people had been flourishing. Brand events like “Happy Spring Festival” had more and more influence. The two countries had been supporting each other and started wide cooperation under the multilateral structure. The tourism cooperation had been progressing steadily. The number of people traveling between our two countries had be increasing. I look forward to 2022 which was the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between our two countries. On the base of pandemic cooperation, China and Georgia would continuously enhance cultural and tourism communication and cooperation under the structure of the “Belt and Road” initiative, so as to start a new chapter of our friendship and to have new cooperation achievement.

    Archil Kalandia said that Georgia was willing to work hand in hand with China to enhance the cultural and tourism cooperation between the two countries and to improve our friendship and mutual understanding.

    After the meeting, both sides signed the “2021-2021 Cultural Cooperation Protocol between the Ministry of Cultural and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia”.
