The High Quality Development Summit of China’s Revolution Museum·2021 was Held in Nanjing

    On July 19th, the “High Quality Development Summit of China’s Revolution Museum·2021” was Held in Nanjing. It was jointly held by National Cultural Heritage Administration and Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government. The aim of the summit was to implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by the general secretary Xi Jinping on the conference to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China; to carry out the spirit of a series of decisions given by Xi Jinping relating to cultural heritage and to make full use of revolutionary cultural relics in term of party history education, revolutionary tradition education and patriotism education. Attendees included but not limited to Li Qun, director of National Cultural Heritage Administration and vice minister of culture and tourism, Zhang Aijun, minister of publicity and member of the standing committee of Jiangsu provincial CPC committee, and Ma Xin, vice governor of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government.

    Li Qun said in his speech that China revolution museums had been developing with China’s revolution, construction and reform and had made historical achievement and contribution. The museum had amazing exhibition and a complete structure, showing functions including education, communication, cooperation and promotion of revolutionary culture. He stressed that when we stepped on a new journey, we should: make plans according to the overall condition; enhance our sense of responsibility; study and understand the spirit of the important speech given by the general secretary Xi Jinping on the conference to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China; learn the spirit of significant instruction given by Xi Jinping relating to cultural heritage and protect and make full use of revolutionary cultural relics and manage the work relating to it with political aims of promoting outstanding traditional Chinese culture, inherit revolutionary culture and developing the advanced culture of socialism. Relating departments should innovate while stick to the right direction by enhancing top-level design as well as promoting mechanism innovation, scientific and technological innovation and service innovation. The government should stick to systematic concept and the right direction. There were three main features of the work. The first was protection which meant that relating departments should pay attention to preventive, digital and cultural relics protection. The second one was quality which meant that the government should have high-quality exhibition. The third one was education which meant the authority should expand education function. We needed to make concerted effort and rearrange resource and spend more effort in academic research, push promotion and develop general structure.

    On the opening ceremony, the National Revolution Cultural Heritage Exhibition League was lunched; the research center of revolutionary museum of Nanjing University was launched and the “Introduction of China Revolutionary Museum” was published. More than 40 student narrators from Nanjing Tianzheng Primary School and Zhongshan Primary School participated in the event called “telling the story of CPC by myself”.

    During the summit, key speeches about the speech given by the general secretary Xi Jinping were delivered by Gu Yucai, deputy director and deputy secretary of the leading party group of National Cultural Heritage Administration, Chen Jin, deputy director of former Party Literature Research Centre of the CPC Central Committee, and Wu Xiangdong, curator of China CPC History Museum. 15 representatives from provincial cultural heritage administration departments, revolution museums and institutions of higher learning exchanged their ideas on the high-quality development of museums in the “14th five year plan”.

    Attendees included experts and people in charges of relating national and central departments, provincial cultural heritage administration departments and revolution museums.

    The High Quality Development Summit of China’s Revolution Museum·2021 was the last event of the month for the national protection, promotion and exploitation of cultural heritage. The events started from June 12th which was “the day for cultural and natural heritage”. To celebrate the the 100th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, local governments organized a series of events with senses of ceremony and participation and with the theme of “present the history of 100 years and inherit revolutionary gene”.
