On July 16th, published on the No.14 Qiushi was “The Speech Delivered on the Conference to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China”, wrote by Xi Jinping, president, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission.
It’s wrote in the article that in the last 100 years, CPC had handed in an excellent test paper to people and history. The CPC unified and led Chinese people to realize the second centenary goal. The CPC aimed to lead the development of China for thousands of years, so the party was still young when it’s a hundred years old! If we look back to the past and into the future, we would build a strong socialist modern country in all aspect and to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation by relying on the leadership of the CPC and the solidarity of all nationalities in China.
According to the article, after the continuous struggle of the CPC and all nationalities in China, we had realized the first centenary goal to eradicate the absolute poverty and to build a society of moderate prosperity in China. And now we were stepping toward the second centenary goal.
In the article, all struggle, sacrifice and creation made by Chinese people led by the CPC in the last 100 years could be summarized as one theme which was to realize the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. To reach that goal, the CPC had led Chinese people to have a series of great achievement, including: new democratic revolution, socialist revolution and construction, reform and opening up, socialist modernization construction and socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. The CPC and the Chinese people endured struggle to announce to the world that the Chinese nation had leaped from standing up, getting prosperous and becoming stronger and the rejuvenation of Chinese nation was an irreversible historical trend!
It’s written in the article that 100 years ago, the pioneers of the CPC found the party and created it’s spirit of sticking to truth, chasing dreams, carrying out the original aspiration, taking responsibilities, not afraid to sacrifice, be brave in fight, loyal to CPC and meeting the need of people, all of which were origin of the spirit of CPC. In the last 100 years, the CPC had been shaping and promoting it’s spirit. We would carry on this glorious tradition and pass it on to future generations.
Taking history as a mirror, one could see the rise and fall of a nation. We could use the experience gained through history to judge the current situation and to predict the future. The 100-year struggle of the CPC helped us to understand why we had succeed in the past and how to be successful in the future, so as to be more firm in the new journey, bear the original aspiration in mind and create a promising future. If we wanted to have a good future, we needed to: sticking to the leadership of the CPC; unifying and leading Chinese people to work hard for a better life; promote the sinicization of Marxism; developing socialism with Chinese characteristics; speeding up the modernization of army and national defense; promoting the community for mankind with a shared future, carrying on the great struggle with new historical characteristics; enhancing the solidarity among Chinese people and pushing forward the great project of party construction.
In the article was a call for all CPC members to bear one’s original aspiration in mind; to stick to dreams and beliefs; to carry out party’s goals; to connect to people closely; to think the same thing with people and to work with people to overcome difficulties so as to make concerted effort to realize people’s wish for a good life and aim for more glory for the CPC and people.
