In the morning of June 13^th, 2020 Host City Activities of Culture and Natural Heritage Day was held in Guilin city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The opening ceremony was carried out in venues in Guilin and in China Media Group at the same time by connecting them lively. Those attending the event in Beijing venue were Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Central Publicity Department and director of China Media Group, Liu Yuzhu, director of National Cultural Heritage Administration, and Sun Yusheng, member of editorial board of China Media Group. Those attended the event in Guilin venue were Fan Xiaoli, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and minister of Publicity Department, Zhao Yueqin, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and secretary of Guilin party committee, Li Bin, vice chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region People's Government, Guan Qiang, deputy director general of National Cultural Heritage Administration, those awarded by the national honorary title of “Outstanding Contributor to Cultural Heritage Protector” and Fan Jinshi, honorary president of Dunhuang Academy China.

    In the opening ceremony, Liu Yuzhu said that cultural heritage was the essence of a nationality and a spiritual home of people. Since the the 18th CPC National Congress, with visionary ideas, the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as it’s core had pointed a clear direction to the exploitation of cultural relics and to the protection and inheritance to the protection and exploitation of cultural heritage. Work relating to cultural relics accompanied economic and social development. And was a part of five-sphere integrated plan. It would develop along with the processes to build a moderately prosperous society and to realize the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. The departments of cultural relics system saw cultural relics protection as a priority; implemented key cultural relics protection; established a safe and long-term mechanism to guarantee the safety of cultural relics; revised Law on the Protection of Cultural Relics; established Opinions on Strengthening Reform of the Protection and Utilization of Cultural Relics; pushed the rapid and healthy development of museums; implemented foreign cooperation project of cultural relics and helped Chinese cultural relics in foreign countries to be returned to China. Cultural relics provided driving forces to cultural confidence, power for good lives and an important platform for cultural communication and mutual-learning. They also contributed to city’s culture, rural rejuvenation, old revolutionary base areas and people’s colorful lives.

    Liu Yuzhu said that we were close to the finish of building a moderately prosperous society. Practitioners whose work related to cultural relics needed to see Xi Jinping Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as guidance and remembered his instructions as well as our missions and responsibilities so as to promote the protection, exploitation and relating-reform of cultural relics; push forward important research of China’s archaeology; establish the list of national demonstration zone for cultural relics protection and exploitation zone and the list of districts, cities and counties of the protection and exploitation of revolutionary cultural relics; promote the reform and development of museums and of cultural relics areas in society; push digital protection of high quality and plan for the 14^th five year plan with high quality. Measures above could enable us to reach a successful ending of the establishment of a moderately prosperous society and to start a new chapter in this era for the protection and inheritance of cultural relics.

    Fan Xiaoli said in her speech that Guangxi boosted long history and colorful and abundant historical and cultural relics. The province had been following general secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and order spirit relating to cultural relics to push forward the protection and exploitation of cultural heritage in the district. The local governments had achieved significant progress in gathering remains of red army martyrs and in placing them in coffins; in the promotion of the maritime Silk Road construction; the protection of the historical site in Beihai City, the application to let them be included in the list of world heritage and the construction of it’s relating museums as well as in the building of a moderately prosperous society in all aspects. With opportunities of heritage day activities as opportunities, people’s government in Guangxi would further complete the protection system for cultural relics, spend more effort, increase the awareness to protect cultural relics in the whole society and to push forward the high-quality development of the protection and exploitation of cultural relics.

    On the opening ceremony, established an multi-media event named “moderate prosperous society in all aspect supported by cultural relics--the trend of cultural relics in my eye” and promoted the third season of “If Treasures could Talk”. Two lists were also published, including the promotion list of Chinese cultural relics omnimedia quality works (new media) and the promotion list of “looking for the best protector of the safety of cultural relics”. In addition, an opening ceremony in Guilin City was also held with the name of “we are fighting against the pandemic--picture exhibition of cultural exhibition practitioners to fight against the pandemic”.

    During the day of cultural and natural heritage, a series of online and offline events were also held, including a theme forum named “moderate prosperous society in all aspect supported by cultural relics”, the opening ceremony of the protection project of the old Guangxi provincial art gallery and the donation ceremony to celebrate social participation in the protection and exploitation of cultural relics, the online promotion and exhibition of outstanding Chinese cultural relics (new media), the 12^th national teenager cultural heritage knowledge competition, the 7^th “a memory of ink and a home to stay and to expect--Chinese cultural heritage art exhibition”, the open class of cultural heritage in Guilin and the 2^nd season of live streaming program named “Moving Civilization”.

    Apart form a series of events in the host city Guilin, cultural relics protection institutes and museums started booking for the visit, online and offline exhibitions and promotion and education according to their own conditions as long as they could meet the requirement of the pandemic control and prevention. They offered people-benefiting services, including free visit, online exhibition, online interpretation and Wenbo Cloud Class, so as to provide a nutritious, healthy and safe treat for the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day. According to the estimation, more then 4600 events were held by the national cultural relic system for the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day.
